Within our MEP office, it seems one of the primary challenges we've had with the integration of Revit is the lack of electrical functionality when it comes to project phasing. Various components of this have been suggested over the years, but it seems like the ask could be simplified as follows:    Provide project phasing for electrical circuitry. In the real world, circuits existing in a place and time like all other model geometry, so it doesn't make sense that they are handled like annotations/analytical calculations that exist only in the scope of work.  Allow for use of phase filters on electrical panel schedules.  This allows for a designer to display and existing and revised condition. This is typically displayed on every project that involves modifying the loads associated with a panel.  I am aware that there are work arounds using Excel or Drafting views, but this is definitely a hang up every time we train a new electrical drafter/designer.  Show More

Restore the ability to resize duct, pipe, conduit, and cable tray runs along with their fittings using the Modify Multi-Select ribbon. Previous versions of Revit allowed users to select connected segments and fittings and modify their sizes simultaneously. In Revit 2027, users must resize the straight segments and fittings separately, adding unnecessary steps to a common MEP workflow. Reinstating this functionality would improve efficiency and provide a more consistent editing experience for MEP designers and engineers. Show More

See attached image. TLDR: When adding a Project (Shared) Parameter you can only add it to the entire Category leading to Parameters in Families which do not need them. There are 3rd Party apps built to clean up Parameters in Families but this needs to be native in Revit.   More info: When adding a Project (Shared) Parameter it would be extremely helpful to select only specific Families of a Category. The option to add to the entire category is greyed out at the bottom of the dialog, can there be an option to Specify Families? Adding a Parameter to an entire Category results in unnecessary Parameters in Families leading to confusion. The current solution to only add a Parameter to as specific Family is in Family Editor which is tedious when adding Parameters to multiple Families. The option to add a Parameter to all Families of a Category is available when adding the Parameter in the Family Editor, there needs to be an option to Specify Families in the Project environment. With the permission of one of the customers, I wanted to present an enhancement request for Revit. Starting with version 2021, changes have been implemented for joining straight pipe and duct sections after removing accessories such as coupling, valve or dumper. Auto-healing functionality for piping and duct is available in version 2020 and lower.   Legacy Behavior Revit 2020:     New Behavior Revit 2021:     Quick pipes or ducts connection can be achieved by using the Trim (TR) command.   This Idea Station aims to measure how many users are dissatisfied with the new solution. Changes have been made to Revit 2021 to ensure that there are consistent and predictable results when multiple users collaborate through various modeling, coordinating, spooling, and other such activities in workshared models. At this point in time the only supported wire sizing in Revit is AWG (American Wire Gauge). This is stopping electrical engineers using the metric system from using the power of the Revit electrical functions. We like to use the flex pipes of Revit to simulate flex hoses to sprinklers. For hydraulic calculation of sprinkler system in this case it is necessary to have an inner and an outer diameter of this flex pipe like in pipes. Multiple Light sources would allow for multiple photometric files in a Lighting Fixture family.   Possible Use Cases :  Track Lights, especially where aiming is needed/required.  Area Lights (parking lots) where it's common to have multiple lighting fixtures on a single pole-top. Certain kinds of Emergency Lights (bug-eyes and similar).   It's presently possible to handle these cases using a Light Source in a nested Family.  But that approach has it's challenges and limitations (as of Revit 2022).   Using a non-shared nested source. Cannot edit the Photometric Web file at the project level (must go into the family editor). Using a shared-nested source. Possible to edit the IES file at the project level, but not intuitive. Changing the IES file for the Shared family affects all other families that use that Shared Family. Creates a challenging work-flow for editing the Photometric File on a per Type basis, at the project level. Existing challenges with not nesting the source. Limited to a single photometric file. Difficult to aim sources precisely, at the instance level, in 3 dimensions. Aiming is critical for things like Track Lights. The Tilt Angle parameter does not solve the problem (fully) becasue it only tilts in one dimension, and is a Type Parameter. Really need a way to specify/schedule aiming in X-Y (azimuthal angle), in addition to Tilt Angle. Need a way to do this, parametrically, for multiple sources.   Thank you for your consideration. I have been in contact with Autodesk support about this.   In Revit 2020 we have an Electrical Equipment family which represents a Data-switch. This family is set to 'Part type' 'Other Panel'. This family is loaded into a project. From this project through 'Edit Family' we change the 'Part type' to 'Switchboard'. This adds several extra parameters to the family like 'Max #1 Pole breakers'. We load this family into the project so the parameters are available in the project. We change the 'Part Type' back to 'Other Panel' and reload the family into the project. This will keep the parameter 'Max #1 pole breakers'/'Max number of circuits':   This limits the number of data connection that can be made on the data switch. This works fine for Revit 2020. In Revit 2021 the 'Max #1 Pole Breakers' has been replaced by the 'Max number of circuits' parameter. If we use the same methode with this parameter you can connect more than the set max number of circuits for the data switch:     Autodesk concluded with: "There currently indeed is an inconsistency as "other" panels could not be limited using some kind of "Max number of ports" parameter. As Data switches don't have breakers having the "Max #1 Pole breakers" parameter in a data switch is not supported in Revit. Using the hack that was working in 2020 was a really clever workaround (love it) but is currently not a design scenario in the current version." Since we need to control the maximum number of connections to any panel i would like to suggest this to be implemented. Show More
