Schedules - Copy/Paste data

Schedules - Copy/Paste data

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) BIM Standards committee recently created a list of Autodesk Revit enhancement and feature requests based on a membership survey. We have shared a prioritized list with Autodesk and are posting them here, on Revit Ideas, to build community support to benefit the lighting design industry.

Please consider upvoting this Revit Idea.

Description:

Provide more Excel-like options to populate data within the schedule. Data is often reused from family to family or type to type.

@dan.stine Have you followed up or had any conversations about this with Autodesk since your post in 2022?  I'm sure there's a huge constituency for a modern schedule interface.  I'm in the weeds working on a ton of Key Schedules and not being able to copy/paste or fill a series of cells is driving me nuts.  Currently, to do any kind of bulk editing or importing, you need some version of a schedule importer/exporter add-in or a custom Dynamo node. There is an decade old archi-lab node for dynamo, but even after updating it from IronPython to CPythion, it still doesn't work reliably for different data types.

Key schedules are such a valuable tool for accessing Revit as a relational database and yet they are misunderstood and ignored.  And it's hard to get people to really get on board when creating a big key schedule without tearing your hear out or spending countless hours requires outside tools.
