Currently, when users need to automatically retrieve the real spatial position of an element (X, Y, and Z), it is often necessary to use Dynamo, especially through functions such as Element.GetLocation. While this works well, it requires creating and maintaining Dynamo scripts just to access a fundamental piece of information that already exists within the model. The idea would be to implement native system parameters directly in Revit, accessible from both families and projects, such as: Insertion X Coordinate Insertion Y Coordinate Insertion Z Coordinate / Elevation These parameters could work similarly to the coordinates obtained through Dynamo using Element.GetLocation, while being: automatically updated whenever an element is moved; accessible in schedules; usable in tags; available for filters and calculated parameters. This improvement would: remove the dependency on Dynamo for this type of simple automation; facilitate BIM workflows and the creation of smarter families; simplify the management of elevations and coordinates in annotations; improve coordination and layout workflows. Today, many users create Dynamo scripts solely to populate coordinate parameters after an element is modified. Having these values available natively and automatically updated would provide significant gains in stability, performance, and usability. Revit currently only allows copy and paste between projects open in the same session. This makes it difficult to transfer elements when working with multiple Revit windows or versions. A common complaint among clients working on Revit Projects in Forma is that when opening up a Cloud or Workshared Cloud Model in Revit from the Docs dialog, the highest level of all folders that users have access to are displayed at the same level, regardless of the nested folder structure. This can be a little confusing, and I think the better solution is to provide the same visibility within Revit and the Desktop Connector that is available in the Web Viewer. Currently, the only solution is to provide View Only permissions at the Project Files level to show the folder structure, which is not ideal.   Folders would be greyed out similarly to the web viewer with the ability to expand if you have access to a subfolder.   This is the setting within Forma Data Management:   Show folder path (web only) On   Enable project members to see the full folder path for folders on web even if they don't have view permission, as long as they have permissions for at least one subfolder.   Show More

Please make all MEP elements visible in plan regions when adjusting View Range. It is illogical that certain categories do not display. Alternatively, add a feature such that Plan regions can have their own model category selections independent of the View settings.   This is driving me nuts. Similar to the Section Header, allow the elevation marker to keep the text horizontal. The current solution to this does not work properly as it is only for use with a single type of label with multiple lines for the detail and sheet number parameters. This limits flexibility for other standards. For example, see the following image   Show More

Would be great to have the sides of the section box connected to the tail and head so when you drag to widen the section view the tail or head moves along with it. When connected dragging either the dot on tail/head or triangle on side of section box allows you to widen the section view. There should also be a way to disconnect and reconnect them. Show More

So currently I am required to draw a reference plane as it the only element which seems to have a snap point to align views like  a section and plan.   Chatgpt was advising to use guide grid but this snaps to the guide grid lines and not geometry like walls. and if trying to align a view with another again cannot select walls or other similar modeled geometry.   So the idea is to be able to use align tool to align a plan and section/elevation on a sheet or use snap points on modeled geometry etc.   Lastly @kimberly_fuhrman-jones tried searching but couldn't find anything remotely describing what I'm after. Hello dev team, Revit Assistant introduces very promising possibilities through natural language interactions. However, an ambiguous, incomplete, or poorly written prompt could lead to unintended modifications to the BIM model. To increase user confidence and make AI usage safer in complex BIM projects, it would be valuable to introduce a validation system before any modification is applied to the model. Two Possible Approaches : 1. Optional “Safe Mode” Add a setting in Revit Assistant allowing users to enable or disable a mode that prevents direct modifications to the model. When this mode is enabled: the Assistant analyzes the prompt, prepares the actions to be performed, but no modification is automatically applied, the user must explicitly validate the proposed changes. This would allow users to adapt the security level according to their workflow and project context. 2. Warning / Confirmation Dialog Before Execution Before any modification is applied to the model, automatically display a confirmation dialog showing: the actions that will be performed, the elements potentially impacted, and a warning message indicating that modifications will be applied to the model. Some parameters, are not shown in Properties Panel even though it is a valid value for the specified element. Ex.: Structural Foundations does not show built in Volume parameter in Properties Panel. So for a rapid value check you need to create a entire schedule, just to see an element Volume value. Structural Columns does not show built in Length parameter in Properties Panel. So for a rapid value check you need again to create a entire schedule, just to see an element Length value.   Every existing parameter should be available in Properties Panel, and if there are too much of them, allow user to select which ones will appear. I know there work arounds like grouping a number of filled regions especially if the have solid coloring then applying transparency to the group. Hello.   Already discussed many times, but since nothing ever changes: Half the buttons are useless to me (and others), take up space unnecessarily, and most importantly, we accidentally click on them. For example, "Duct Placeholder" is completely pointless — nobody uses it in construction, and even on design projects engineers use real ducts. The right-click shortcut is too easily accessible; I click it unintentionally one time out of three, which is very frustrating. Level creation is in the Architecture tab. Why? Architects are not the only ones who need to create levels. Let me move it and delete the architect tab. In the Modify/Geometry tab, the tools available only work on walls. Let me remove them — they are useless to me. When starting a new project, it systematically asks whether you want to use imperial or metric (international) units. Only one country in the world uses inches, so why impose it on everyone? Let us set this once and for all in the general options, since we will never use those outdated units. And while we're at it, if an international version could be developed, it would benefit the majority of users and greatly improve performance — which is already quite questionable — by eliminating the systematic unit conversion calculations (yes, Revit processes everything in imperial units internally). The same goes for the options used to manage units. Being forced to click on each line, one by one, to switch from imperial to metric on projects or families defined that way... The purpose of pinning elements, according to the hoverover note, is "Prevent or allow change of element position". I still think I should be able to edit the boundary of a floor event while pinned, for instance in order to add a hole for a cutout. This wouldn't change the element position, just let med control the object geometry in its current place.  Show More

Currently, the symbolic pattern of flex ducts is controlled per flex duct instance using the Flex Pattern instance parameter. This makes it difficult to maintain a consistent office or project standard, especially on large MEP projects with many users. It would be very useful if Revit had a global/project-level setting for flex duct symbolic graphics, ideally under: Mechanical Settings → Duct Settings → Flex Duct Graphics   The density control would be also useful. At the moment, the flex duct symbolic pattern can appear too dense or too loose depending on drawing scale. A simple setting such as Low / Medium / High density, or better a numeric spacing value for specific scale, would give users much better control over drawing clarity.   Thanks. Show More
