Please allow in Assembly views all options as in regular views - edit elements without assembly editing mode. Also some detail elements (rebar mesh tags , maybe others) are greyed out. When adding a family to an assembly, any sub-families contained within that family should be added automatically. This would remove the need for users to manually place each shared sub-family one by one. For example, when adding wire loops to a wall element, the loops are modeled using a line-based family template that contains the actual wire loop as a sub-family. Currently, adding wire loops to an assembly requires two steps: first add the line-based family, and then manually add all the shared sub-families. Automating this process would streamline assembly creation, reduce repetitive work, and minimize the risk of missing required components. Show More

On behalf of the Revit User Group DACH, which represents hundreds of customers, we ask for more flexible stairs, especially the monolithic stairs in Revit which lack a way to model and edit the correct shape of the riser base and top end connection profiles to meet the required constructions. With that higher flexibility it will also be possible to align the kink lines of two runs of a staircase what is also key for Architects. Picture number 1 shows three ways of stair base end connections that are possible at the moment, but those are neither meeting standard requirements nor possible to build (too sharp or finishing floor not possible to build):     Picture number 2 shows examples of required correct stair bases (end connections) that are not possible to model with Revit stairs functionalities, those were modeled as in-place families.     Picture number 3 shows a further example of a required stair end and top base including connection notch. A part of our companies activities consists of engineering precast concrete elements (balconies, columns, walls, etc.) for production companies.   Our workflow for engineering a precast wall in short: create a wall, place face based elements (such as fixing or transporting anchors, junction boxes, etc), create wall assembly, create shop drawings from assembly.   Sometimes the same wall element needs to occur in multiple places in the project. We therefore copy the assembly to the designasted location and if necessary rotate it to the right oriëntation. However when rotating a wall assembly we encounter a problem: the face based elements on the vertical and horizontal sides of the walls are not properly constraint to the wall, they keep their original oriëntation. This is shown in the screenshot below. The cause for this issue is that face based elements can only be placed on the shape handle of the wall. This is also the only workplane you can select, you can't cycle through workplanes by using the TAB-button. This wall behaviour changes when you edit the profile of the wall. When only 1 boundary line is edited, suddenly you have the option of cycling through the shape handle and the wall reference as a workplane. When assigning the wall reference as a workplane to the face based element the problem is solved and the element is properly constrained to the wall.   Therefore I would like to have the possibility  to cycle through shape handle and wall reference as a workplane to be a basic wall property/functionality, without having to edit its profile first.   P.S. this issue has already been discussed with Autodesk customer support. They have confirmed the issue and registered it as a wish for product enhancement. However they requested for me to post this idea to gather support from the community.       Show More

The tools of bended mesh needs to be more user friendly and understand automatic recognition of shape. Also you should be able to get all parameters inside of schedule ( Does not work to get BEND diameter or Nominal diameter inside of the schedule.  Drag and stretch should work (modelling tool) . Type based bended mesh is not user friendly and i will need to manually every time type in values and also create new types even though the shape is exactly same . The only diffference is the "length" of the bended mesh",  so it should be instance parameters instead.  Also inserting method should be more 3D friendly . Now i only can insert it in plan and section also.  The precast industry is very big and we need these tools to work seamless inside of Revit to be able to create good 3D models and gathering the information in schedules.  Show More

The extreme parts of the hollow core slabs created with precast features do not contain profiles on the outside edge. It is possible to add them manually, but this is time-consuming in case of many design changes. This would streamline work and simplify schedules and documentation when the extreme assemblies are the same as the internal ones.   Show More

That means that there should be a possibility to create a rebar which has e.g. 20 turns per 1m on the firs 2 m of length and further 10 turns per meter. La nueva herramienta de detalle de plegado es muy útil para optimizar el tiempo necesario para documentar detalles en estructuras. Sin embargo, hemos identificado algunos detalles que sería conveniente actualizar para que la herramienta sea aún más útil. Específicamente, hemos identificado tres áreas de mejora: acotación automática, desglose manual y detalle de plegado en una vista 3D. En cuanto al dimensionamiento automático, hemos observado que las dimensiones se ubican en el interior, lo que limita su ubicación en el exterior, como se muestra en la imagen (1). Asimismo, hemos detectado interferencias entre cotas y líneas de cotas que dificultan la visualización de las medidas, como se muestra en la imagen (2). En cuanto al desglose manual, hemos encontrado que requiere tiempo y recursos para hacerlo, ya que es necesario realizar las dimensiones y colocar las etiquetas manualmente, como se muestra en la imagen (3). Finalmente, respecto al detalle de plegado en una vista 3D, creemos que sería muy útil si esta opción estuviera activa. De esta forma, se podría realizar el detalle de manera más eficiente, como se muestra en la imagen (4). En este sentido, tenemos el precedente de la herramienta "mover elementos", que en versiones anteriores estaba inactiva en una vista 2D pero se activó gracias a los comentarios de los usuarios. En conclusión, creemos que estas mejoras serían de gran utilidad para hacer aún más útil y eficiente la herramienta de detalle de plegado para quienes nos dedicamos al detallado de este tipo de elementos.         Show More

In picture below, in green box is used Tag wich contains parameter "host count" (in blue box).  In red box is used Multi - rebar annotation tool with same tag family, but "host count" parameter not appearing. Often there are existing CAD, object, or linked file that needs to be followed when modifying floor sub elements. my work around has been to DRAW lines first then use modify sub element feature to snap to those lines. but Enough is Enough! please let us snap to lines and edges and corners when using "add point" or "add split line" or "Pick Supports" when using the "modify sub elements" feature.    Thank you!   Show More

As the title says this is a simple idea.    Allow for rebar selections to be filtered by type/size. In the below example, I might want to select all HD12 and R10 bars, however, they are mixed in with a lot of different types. The "select all" command doesn't work, because those types appear elsewhere in the project, and the manual selection process is tedious.      This would be a huge workflow efficiency improvement, thanks! On behalf of the user: When using a Multi-Rebar Annotation for two or more rebar distributions in Revit, the description consists of as many descriptions with the syntax "Number, number of bars, diameter" as many distributions are described. In case of multiple schedules with the same steel type and diameter it should be possible to use single description with the syntax: "Number, sum of number of bars in distributions, diameter". Please add a new parameter "sum of number of bars in distributions" to the Multi-Rebar Annotation. Show More
