Hello, In my experience, Fabric Sheets work well only in very simple geometry. As soon as the host element becomes more realistic (slopes, recesses, openings, edge conditions), the workflow becomes inconsistent and often unusable for reliable detailing and prefabrication. 1) Bend Fabric Sheet does not cut with host geometry / recesses A common real-life example is precast balcony slabs, which typically have a sloped top surface. In this situation, a Bend Fabric Sheet is a good idea and works nicely as long as the slab geometry is simple. However, when the slab includes: recesses / small pockets, openings, edge notches, or any local cuts, the Bend Fabric Sheet does not get cut by the host. In practice this means the reinforcement representation is wrong and cannot be trusted for production-level documentation. Minimum improvement request: Add reliable “cut by host” for Bend Fabric Sheets (including recesses and openings). 2) Fabric Area reinforcement is limited to horizontal placement As a workaround, it is possible to use Fabric Area reinforcement and manually draw borders and openings. But Fabric Area has a major limitation: it can be placed only as a horizontal / vertical solution, so it cannot represent the true, sloped geometry of elements like balcony slabs. This creates problems for: accurate geometry representation, correct shop drawings, and especially prefabrication , where exact geometry is critical. Minimum improvement request: Allow Fabric Area to be host-based / work in sloped and non-horizontal planes, following the element’s surface. 3) Fabric Area cannot be added to Assemblies Another major workflow issue is that Fabric Area cannot be included in an Assembly. This breaks typical precast / prefabrication workflows, where assemblies are used to: package elements + reinforcement together, duplicate or reuse similar element types, and create consistent drawings. Without being able to include Fabric Area in the Assembly, it becomes much harder to standardize and reuse typical details. Minimum improvement request: Enable Fabric Area to be added to Assemblies the same way as other reinforcement elements. 4) Copying / assembly duplication behavior is unreliable There are cases where we want to copy an element (or an assembly) together with the fabric reinforcement. Currently, the behavior can be inconsistent: sometimes the fabric reinforcement does not copy correctly with the host element, or it stays in the original location / original sheet geometry instead of following the copied element. This makes it difficult to build efficient, repeatable workflows. Context: why this matters I understand that improving Fabric Sheets to handle complex geometry properly is not a small task. However, even a few minimum improvements (at least host cutting for Bend Fabric Sheets, great would be non-horizontal Fabric Area) would already unlock a much more robust and production-ready workflow.
