The Revit Issues Add‑In is a powerful tool for viewing and resolving Autodesk Construction Cloud issues directly in the authoring environment. It works well for syncing issue data, responding to comments, and closing the loop between ACC and Revit. However, when working in large or federated Revit models, the experience breaks down around model context and visibility. Today, when an issue is opened through the Revit Issues Add‑In—especially one created from another discipline’s model or from a federated coordination space—the user is often taken to a generic view or a fallback view with limited context. In many cases, the user must manually create section boxes, isolate elements, or adjust view settings just to understand where the issue is and what it relates to. This adds friction and slows down resolution, particularly on complex projects with multiple linked models. What’s missing is automatic, issue‑driven sectioning within Revit. When an issue has a known location, pushpin, or viewpoint, the Revit Issues Add‑In should be able to automatically generate a temporary or dedicated section box (or 3D context view) centered on the issue location. This sectioning should work not only in the active model, but also across associated and federated Revit models, so users can immediately see the issue in context regardless of which discipline authored the geometry. Making auto‑sectioning part of the Revit Issues Add‑In workflow would significantly reduce manual setup, improve clarity, and make issue resolution faster and more consistent. This would be especially valuable for coordination, QA/QC, and consultant workflows where users frequently review issues originating outside their own model. Enabling automatic sectioning for issues would greatly improve the day‑to‑day usability of the Revit Issues Add‑In and better support real‑world federated model workflows.
