Please allow Revit LT to support plug-ins. My company uses Revit LT and its perfect for what we need.
We don't want or need to upgrade to the full version of Revit. However, it would be extremely helpful to have the support of add-ins, especially the STL exporter for instance.
Hello, I suggest that the plugins for Revit LT be enabled, as a CYPE user it would be very interesting to be able to use the Open Bim complement for Revit, being able to design the model in Revit LT and then calculate everything in CYPE.
We just ordered a couple of Revit LT licences and I hoped we could export to Collada (.dae). We use Lumion which has it's own exporter. The possibility of plugins makes Revit LT perfect for what we need and allow 3rd party to develop the plug-ins. This way the Autodesk development team can focus on other things 😉
Having API support for 3rd party plugins would be great. I dont need work-sharing, MEP or other capabilities of Revit but I do really need 3rd party plug in support. As a small business we cannot justify the cost increase to full Revit as this comes to around £3000/year instead of Revit LT at £560ish/year per seat.
I could justify the cost increase being as great as is for very large collaborative projects where the fees are relative to work but working in small scale residential projects we are no way the same level of fee scale to get to use basic software feature of 3rd party plugin.
Being able to use 3rd party plugin for framing and render sync with Lumion would be perfect. The current existing cloud render isn't exactly ideal for creating new textures quickly and easily.
At the moment we are split between deciding to carry on with Revit LT or transitioning to Archicad for cost/benefit. As we would get the capabilities we require but the disadvantage of being the content we have created with Revit would have to be redone + time to learn established workflow.
we are currently addressing the same problem at our small interior design studio. We would like to use Enscape in our workflow, but upgrading to full Revit is not an option due to prohibitive cost. Cloud rendering also cannot replace the immediate feedback that Enscape provides.
Autodesk has it's own solution, Live, but that is only offered as part of the whole Architecture collection.
From our understandig ArchiCAD START (or Solo edition in US) provides API support, which enables it to use plugins. Once Enscape develops plugin for this edition, we'll definitely be considering that option.
Make it possible to make a Revit version, with the functions from Revit lt, but with an option to add plug-in software to render. I work with the full version of Revit on a daily basis. I'm not even using 50% of the programs functions, but I have to use the full version to be able to render in external software - That dosen't make any sense.
I'm not saying that Autodesk just have to add it to Revit lt, I will gladly pay some extra money to get that exstra function in a new version, I just think It's unnecessary to pay full price, for something you don't use.
