FIX hatch patterns in linked DWGs

FIX hatch patterns in linked DWGs

We're linking in an architect's DWG to Revit 2024. The architect has "internal islands" in their CMU beyond hatch patterns (at windows) that DON'T show the pattern in AutoCAD (as desired), but they DO show up in Revit (and we can't hide them in Revit without editing the AutoCAD file). This is apparently known behavior by Autodesk:

  • In AutoCAD, hatch objects can include “islands” that are excluded from the hatch display. However, when a DWG is linked into Revit, Revit does not fully consider hatch island definitions. Instead, it often reads the hatch as a more simplified pattern and fills areas that were intended to be voids.

Please fix (fully support DWG files). Manually copying and editing a client's file every time they change it on BIM 360 / ACC / Fusion (or whatever they're calling it now) isn't always practical.

Wierdly the islands will show in families (like titleblocks) but then not show in the project. Real pain when trying to use a dwg of a client logo in a titleblock.
