It would be nice to be able to use filter by detail level of different members in the same categories. For example, on the framing plan, I like to use beam/headers as medium to show the actual width and then rafters, floor joist etc as a line which is in coarse level. That's without having to change within the family to make the visibility setting work. Doing it this way would be quicker and have better control.

@Anonymous That's a good idea, too! It would be nice if any overrides could be done at the category, Filter, or element level.
It would also be good if Filters would allow you to adjust subcategory properties instead of just EVERYTHING. For example, if the Filter was only for Walls, then "Common Edges", "Hidden Lines", etc. would also show up in the Filters tab. If multiple categories were selected for the filter, then just the common subcategories would be available in the Filters tab.
Great idea. Being able to do things like turn an existing wall to coarse detail would be amazing. I am also lobbying to get a filter to override a halftone. You can add halftone to a filter, but for phasing if you halftone existing, you cant undo that via filter such as a "reuse" custom parameter. Rohre ab einer Dimension kleiner ca. DN50 sind im Planausdruck bei M 1:50 nicht mehr erkennbar. Mit dem Filter "Detaillierung" werden diese dann automatisch in 1-Strich-Darstellung gezeichnet und sind wieder deutlich dargestellt.
I really need this feature since i don't want to show multiple lines for thicknesses less than 2 cm in my walls. This would be a life saver if i could filter these elements and set their detail level to coarse. Please consider implementing this feature.
From a mechanical perspective, this feature would be nice to show smaller piping and ductwork as single-line with larger sizes remaining double-line. Having mall geometry shown double-line fuses the line work together making small piping appear as a thick black line when printing.

I would like to be able to use filters to adjust the Detail Level of individual elements in a view. For example, I want all my pipes 4" diameter and less to be single line, and 5" and greater to be double line in plan views (and maybe 3d views as well). The current 'all or nothing' approach to adjusting detail level for elements based only on their category could be improved to be more flexible.
This would be perfect for Mech/Interiors. Just had a request for Interiors wanting to show some of the pipe as single line and other (important to their work) as double line. Work around used is the manual overlay of multiple views at different detail levels with filters hiding the other systems in said views.
