Extend schedules to allow selecting individual items in linked files

Any schedule will allow you to carry your selected row over to any view of your model. Activating the view leaves you with the content of your row inside the filter funnel. Somehow this is not the case with elements coming from linked files. The idea is to extend the schedule functionality to cover linked files as a means of selection, too.

This should not be all that hard to provide, since you already can select a linked model and then continue to TAB-select bits and pieces from it. This is just very tedious. Thus the idea.

If I remember correctly, when we have a schedule with linked elements "on" we even lose some functionality (I don't remeber if it's the highlight element option or the ability to edit fields in our own elements - like if the hole column gets turned to read only mode).

We are not able to highlight elements from linked models for the smae reason we cannot get the ID number from linked elements - PLEASE, ALLOW US TO BE ABLE TO GET THE ID OF ELEMENTS IN LINKED MODELS - It's fundamental for coordination between teams. I bet if you solve that, the above problem can be fixed to. Thank you!

PS: If anyone knows of a free addin we can install or script we can create in PY Revit to solve the missing ID thing, please point me to that. This would be super important to us and everyone working with multiple models. Autodesk, please help fix this gap in your software! Thank you.
