Room Calculation Point for MEP Families

Room Calculation Point for MEP Families

An example would be Duct Accessories Family Category does not have the parameter for Room Calculation Point so we can schedule the Room / Space in a schedule.

I can change to Generic Models and get the point but then all my graphics are not an issue.

Please also add support for the Room Calculation Point for other Family Categories, which can be very useful for scheduling:

-Duct Accessoires

-Pipe Accessories

We also need to report rooms/spaces for MEP items on COBie exports. Fire dampers mounted in the wall do not report a space.

Adding Room Calculation Points to Pipe Accessories and Duct Accessories is a must. These items 'normally' sit just outside the space so the room calculation point is needed to schedule these by associated space

We need to create schedules of hvac accessoires which show in what mep-room the respective accessoires are placed in.

Totally agree, duct & pipe accessories form part of our COBie deliverables and require calculation points adding.

Currently the calculation points are positioned inside the family. It would also be beneficial if this could be override on a particular instance of a family.

We have instances where components are located in the void space so the calculation point needs to be lowered and also instances where the same family is floor mounted and the calculation point needs to be central to the family or lifted. In most cases the default value is acceptable but the ability to override this on one instance of the family would be helpful.

Duplicating the family would result in duplicate types and ideally we don't want to duplicate the family naming it by its placement.

Ditto for COBie compliance - else it's a painful manual process (and then subject to greater error).

I shouldn't have to change the category to 'Mechanical Equipment' to get this to trigger through and enable the RCP!

I've been asking for a long time to count hvac accessories on tables, per room

Totally agree, room calculation points are a must for important pipe and duct accessories.
How can we schedule these items and the spaces they relate to without?
How has this not been resolved in 5 years?

Könnten Sie bitte den Raumberechnungspunkt für Kanal und Rohr-Zubehör hinzufügen.

Vielen Dank

If anyone is working in large facilities (Airports, Hospitals) where preventative maintenance (PM) is critical, they'd now owners are starting to require certain equipment (anything that has a motor, pump, valve) need a location, typically the room number. Fire Smoke Dampers for instances is a Duct Accessories, and these have a routine PM. Valves are critical to healthcare facilities because stopping a leak ASAP would minimize mold, something infection control takes seriously. If the leak happens to be near an operating room, well those are the main revenue source for a hospital, not to mention the risk factor.

Autodesk, you own the market, now make your project better. Oh and while your at it, "and/or" in everything that can be filtered. You gave us in views how about schedules?

This has now been requested for 5 years, it needs to be added

I need to count the welded joints in pipes, at least to be able to give it a tag, in pharmaceuticals and food it is very important

@gsilva - that could possibly be done using Dynamo to count the number of connected pipes to a pipe fitting and then set that value to the fitting as a parameter ("number of welded joints"). The Dynamo forum would be your best place to ask/research further but I'm fairly sure this can be done. Only constraint will whether your computer could handle the geometry processing in Dynamo!

Fire dampers are placed in a wall, between rooms, and they cannot read a room from any side of the wall. But it is necessary for schedules and to understand which fire zone it relates to. A Room Calculation Point is a 'must have' feature for Accessories.

Hallo, wir müssen Ortskennzeichen an MEP Familien übergeben, daher ist es wichtig, diesen Familien den Raumberechnungspunkt zu übergeben

Also Accessories for pipes and ducts should get the information in which room there are located.
