Often times a CR has to be canceled because of limitation on adding files or checking in CAD when items are in a CR. This causes users to have to cancel CRs. If CRs have to be recreated the process of copying many items into a CR is time consuming when a CR has many end items not within the same BOMs.   A feature that could copy the items from a canceled CR to a new CR would help. The feature would use the latest working versions of the items copied.  If Upchain would allow files to be added by non admin, we probably would not need this feature as much.  Show More

If a change request is made and lost, it is impossible to know which project it might be locked out to.   Would  it be possible to add the project name to the tool-tip of the locked mouse over. ie "eBOM structural lock: *PROJECT NAME*" Show More

Add a check so translation version and 3D or 2D version always match before CR release. In theory they should always match, but in case it doesn't, bulk export doesn't work properly, because it doesn't find the matching translation version. On the picture you can see translation version version doesn't match solidworks drawing versions, so it shouldn't be allowed to be released. Use Case: A user may inadvertently assign a value to an attribute (which is custom linked to a picklist) for an incorrect item. It would be nice to be able to export to an excel file the Compare revisions comparison that can be seen through the Upchain CR screen. When item is sent to CR/CN from webapp it creates CR/CN in the same tab and user looses expanded BOM view in webapp.  For large projects this is difficult and time consuming to open the child location again.    Please let CR/CN start in new tab so existing tab expanded BOM view will remain as is for user to continue to work.  Show More

In thick client Upchain EBOM editor have option for designers to reorder the EBOM (rearrange the items with in the EBOM). Please bring this capability to Cloud version EBOM editor in plugin. Designers should be able to modify their view in EBOM editor in the plugin.    Use case is that while working with large assemblies it is very beneficial and easy for designers to rearrange all manufactured items, purchased mechanical items, purchased electrical items, sub assemblies, assemblies and product structure items together or in certain sequence and set spare flags or reference only flags.    With current fixed format, designers have to scroll through entire assembly to identify and set flags on certain items that were added/modified, which is very time consuming and also designers might miss some items. Currently, Upchain allows for custom Attributes to be included within a created workflow. When you create a custom Attribute Picklist, there is no way to include this in a workflow to have users of Upchain ensure data is filled out prior to proceeding to the next phase or check in a workflow. This small change will seriously increase productivity. The eBOM Report title includes only the item #. It does not include the item name. Users on the shop floor need to go to the PC to check the item name for that item #. In both Web/Plugin, Project BOM collapses after certain actions. User would have to expand Project BOM again to review where he left off last time. The history tab on an item should show history for all revisions, not just the revision you have selected.  To view the history of a previous revision, you currently need to find the item using search, or use the genealogy tab to find the revision then view the history tab.  Ideally, the history of all previous revisions would be viewable from the latest revision and could be filtered by revision.  Thanks  Show More

Hey,   We have a lot of legacy items that are still to be loaded into Upchain as we found the initial migration many years ago to be problematic so we choose not to only migrate the most current projects. We are now finding that we are modifying a lot of those legacy parts and when uploading to upchain the revision of the part/s in question are usually not revision 0.   Could an admin have the power to choose the starting revision for that item during release. For example if we have a part at revision 5, we have to loop around a CR 5 times to get it to catch up correctly. It would be far easier to have that choice on release. (yes we would loss some traceability, but we also lose traceability when we do 5 revisions of the same item to catch up to current, it is just long and tedious and a job no one wants to do.)   You may have a work around already for this so welcome for some advice if so.   Thanks    Aaron Show More

In order to manage the limited number of item type rules and allow for the many prefixes we use, I need to have our prefix rules set up as free text. This puts the responsibility of the user to remember dozens of existing prefixes we use. I cannot set the prefix as Fixed Text because we would run out of item type/rules real quick. Could a drop down be added to pick from list of predetermined prefixes that would then populate the Free Text. It would be even better if the options in the list were filtered by the Item type selected and managed by the Picklists! I would want it in the Plug-in too.           Show More

We can "only" put attributes coming from the item creation, not the categorization attributes added after creation. It will be very interesting to have this possibility. It could be a good improvement from Upchain side to give us the possibility also to manage Attributes from categoriation. Admins can propagate the default eBOM view in webapp to all users. As soon as admin clicks on the button in webapp, changes get pushed to all users. To avoid accidental table preferences propagation, it's best to have a pop up asking for confirmation.    Pop message should be something like "Propagation of table preferences will be across entire tenant." proceed and cancel buttons in the pop up.  Show More

eBOM is not updated when saving a Solidworks drawing, it is only updated when saving the 3D Data or assembly. It would be a nice a addition if the Solidworks plugin had an option that could be activated/deactivated to also update the eBOM when saving drawings. For example, when saving a drawing you could receive a message. "eBOM doesn't match cBOM, do you want to update it?" Yes or No Show More

Effective date filter for ProjectBOM should ignore End items and dont filter them out based on their creation dates. Right now, if the end item was created after the Effective date (assigned in Project settings), it does not display any of those items under the ProjectBOM for the Effective date filter. Show More
