Create a Tenant property that allows users to Check in CAD if item is in a CR and in Development State when properties drawing.create.pdf is also on.    Currently it is not possible to check in CAD when drawing.create.pdf is on and the item is in CR, even though the item is in development state.   It makes no sense to me that updating a drawing is allowed but a translation of that drawing is not allowed. In thick client Upchain EBOM editor have option for designers to reorder the EBOM (rearrange the items with in the EBOM). Please bring this capability to Cloud version EBOM editor in plugin. Designers should be able to modify their view in EBOM editor in the plugin.    Use case is that while working with large assemblies it is very beneficial and easy for designers to rearrange all manufactured items, purchased mechanical items, purchased electrical items, sub assemblies, assemblies and product structure items together or in certain sequence and set spare flags or reference only flags.    With current fixed format, designers have to scroll through entire assembly to identify and set flags on certain items that were added/modified, which is very time consuming and also designers might miss some items. the issue. If you select an item that has multiple instances in the BOM, all instances are selected. Deselecting one item does not deselect all instances. This is incorrect as all items should be deselected. If one or more items remain selected, all instances are cloned. This is incorrect and confuses the user. In both Web/Plugin, Project BOM collapses after certain actions. User would have to expand Project BOM again to review where he left off last time. Users get a pop up that some files that are not checked out are changed. This pop up comes up during check-in/save-in process. However this pop up only displays file name and no other detail. It is difficult for user to figure out what item is that based on file name in most cases.   Request is to improve the message. A lot of new users check-in their CAD files without create item. The workflow to correct this is complex for nothing. During the first check in, it could be very useful that the CAD plug-in have a pop-up box that show "No items created, Would you like to create item during check-in". Show More

In Solidworks plugin, if there is a suppressed child item that is checked out, it will block the checkin of the parent item giving an error (screenshot attached).   Upchain should be capable of handling these checkins better. It is obvious that when a user is trying to checkin the parent, all checked out child items also should be checked in, even if it is suppressed. So the plugin should be capable of looking at such child items, initiate a checkin for the suppressed child item and then checkin the parent.   Show More

It would be really convenient to be able to right click an existing part and have an "insert part" option while using the Upchain add-in inside SolidWorks. This option would make modeling quicker, cleaner, and prevent anyone from having to open the part, insert the part into your assembly, then close that part window.  Show More

Upchain recently introduced support for attaching DraftSight DWG files to items in Upchain. During our testing, we encountered a few issues with the handling of these DraftSight DWGs upon release. If these areas can be addressed, it would be possible to fully utilize the Upchain CAD Connector plugin for these files. The DraftSight DWG files should be attached to the Drawing tab of the item, rather than the CBOM tab. The custom properties of these DraftSight DWG files should be updated during check-ins and releases, just like how Upchain updates DWG files from AutoCAD. This has a direct impact on the Item version updates on the title blocks of these dwg files. During Change Request (CR) workflows, the system primitive for the 'GPS Create PDF' task should include these DWG files and generate PDF translations for them. The resulting PDFs should then be attached to the newly released version of the item. Show More

Hey,   It would be good to offer automatic plugin updates, as there has been a number of times now where we have came across issues that resort to us using older plugin builds and recently we have seen a number of updates to the plugins in very close succession. Use-Case: In Plugin, when we select an item (and children) for Copy>Clone, it just brings up a popup after completion asking which file it should open in Solidworks. I think that the next steps, i.e. opening item and registering, can be automated through plugin, thereby saving clicks for users.    Desired behavior:  After selecting items to copy and clicking on Copy > Clone button, the plugin should automatically open the newly created highest level item in SolidWorks, and Register the items into PLM. During registering the item, if it detects BOM Anomalies, let it bring up the BOM Anomalies window and present it to the user to resolve them. Show More

eBOM is not updated when saving a Solidworks drawing, it is only updated when saving the 3D Data or assembly. It would be a nice a addition if the Solidworks plugin had an option that could be activated/deactivated to also update the eBOM when saving drawings. For example, when saving a drawing you could receive a message. "eBOM doesn't match cBOM, do you want to update it?" Yes or No Show More

Currently if I search for a part number via the CAD addin's search icon, it returns all revisions of that part but in a random order. For something with multiple revisions this makes it confusing to pick up the latest revision especially when items have minor revisions as well. It also makes it difficult to identify the item version in development as that is jumbled as well. The search should return the results such that the latest version of the item (dev or released) is at the top adn descending order after that.          Show More

Could it be possible for upchain plugin to automatically save the document instead of showing the error message: "cannot continue because the document is not saved. Please save the current document and try again". This would be a good way to reduce the amounts of clicks needed. Show More

The quick search results in SW Upchain plugin are unsorted at the moment and its very difficult to find the item version you want to open if there are several item versions available in results.   The quick search results have to be sorted by default by either Item major and minor versions or users should have the option to sort them based on custom filters. This has been the same since I started using Upchain a couple years ago, but anyway: with the Solidworks CAD plugin, when you execute an advanced search through the Advanced Search Window, it will generally take a while to complete. An average user with other things to do and multiple screens to utilize will temporarily divert their attention to a web browser or email while the search completes, clicking off onto another window. When the search completes, the user will attempt to resume interacting with the advanced search window, but as soon as they click on it, the window hides behind Solidworks. Hitting Alt-Tab a couple times can recover the window, but this one of the most annoying bugs in the CAD plugin for me.  Show More

Currently where used feature shows all the locations where the item is used. If item is used in multiple locations, it is extremely difficult for the user to identify all the locations within a project, where the item is used. So by default, once a project is selected, where used tab should show all the locations with in the project, where item is used. In addition to that there should be a 2nd drop down to show all other locations where the item is used.  Show More

When creating a project, a 4-character unique identifier is required. This results in conflicts when users attempt to select the same unique identifier as another user. Ideally, the unique identifier would be auto-generated sequentially as projects are created avoiding any need for user intervention.   See images for error shown when entering the same unique identifier. As project quantity increases, the chance for duplicate unique identifiers grows, causing frustration for users when trying to find a code to assign their project. Setting this field to auto-generate next in sequence would resolve the issue. Show More
