If a user enters a search criteria where there are more than 1000 results, it gives an error message to refine the search.  In the quick search it returns the top 1000 results (even with the exact same search criteria).   Desire is for the Advanced search to also return the top 1000 results, and have a visual indicator to the user that it is the top 1000 (not the entire result). Currently, Upchain allows for custom Attributes to be included within a created workflow. When you create a custom Attribute Picklist, there is no way to include this in a workflow to have users of Upchain ensure data is filled out prior to proceeding to the next phase or check in a workflow. Users on the shop floor need to go to the PC to check the item name for that item #. In the web interface when viewing an IR, the thumbnail  image of the CAD is so huge it only leaves about 1/5 of that sidebar for viewing more important data like history.  The limited space is about 1" x 2" on my screen and I have to use the scroll bar to see anything. Anything to make the Cad image smaller and the vertical area for other sidebar info would be better.   As it is now, the interface is almost unusable. Show More

Currently there is no way to search what parts in a project use a specific Supplier or Supplier P/N. It would be nice to get a list of parts which have specific Supplier or Supplier P/N. A way to generate that as a report would be even better. Show More

When creating a project, a 4-character unique identifier is required. This results in conflicts when users attempt to select the same unique identifier as another user. Ideally, the unique identifier would be auto-generated sequentially as projects are created avoiding any need for user intervention.   See images for error shown when entering the same unique identifier. As project quantity increases, the chance for duplicate unique identifiers grows, causing frustration for users when trying to find a code to assign their project. Setting this field to auto-generate next in sequence would resolve the issue. Show More

Move project "Archive" and "Close" buttons away from the front page to the project settings.  It is confusing and almost risky to have the "Archive" and "Close" buttons over the item details tab as one may be lead to believe one is closing the tab or archiving the item rather than the full project.  All other projects administration is done on the project administration page, so it seems strange that closing and archiving happens from a completely different location.  Show More

User's often give longer project names and they cannot see full project name in project dropdown, only project number and portion of the project name is visible. Making the project dropdown wider or adding a slider to revel full project names will be beneficial.  Show More

We have a few large assemblies, and exporting the BOM report is failing because the Project BOM item count is more than (142,800) and the current maximum allowed limit for export is (100,000).   As per my understanding, the no of rows limit in the report depends on the maximum number of rows in Excel (in excel, the maximum number of rows are 1,048,576 rows by 16,384 columns) as in the link below. If there's a CN or CR task available for user, he has to open the CR/CN and click on a black ribbon to reveal the task buttons in a small popup. We have seen on our environments that these buttons are sometimes slow to load and is just a waste of time.  It would be more beneficial if the buttons are visible to the user directly when he opens the CR/CN at the top-right corner without having to click the black ribbon. If the user is not the designated assignee, the buttons can just be greyed out.  Show More

As a CAD Designer , I need to be able to change the configuration names on Solidworks model as well as corresponding Items linked to those configurations in Upchain . Potential workflow below   1) Download & checkout the Item from Upchain 2) Open the Solidworks Model and navigate to the 'Configurations' tab in Solidworks 3) Rt Click --> Properties on SWx configuration that needs to be renamed . Assign the new name in the 'Configuration Name' field , then Click OK 4) Save the SWx Model & check in to Upchain 5) Configuration names should get updated against the respective Items in Upchain    As per the WDI design standards , all Solidworks configurations should be named as Dash configurations ( Eg -1 , -2 , -3 ) WDI Designers / External vendors may check in Models in Upchain with non dash configurations . This may happen due to a variety of reasons 1) Incorrect Models Templates being used by Designers 2) Vendor Models for Purchased Parts   If the Models where checked in to Upchain with incorrect configuration names , the CAD Designer would need to clean up the configuration names to match the Disney standards and would therefore need the ability to rename existing configuration names in Solidworks files and corresponding Items in Upchain   Show More

I am being told by support, (CaseNo:18648358) that derived parts are not supported.  If I have a derived assembly or a derived part and click on the refresh button in Upchain, it only brings in the top level ipt, but does not bring in the assembly or part that it was derived from.  I am a little surprised by this as derived parts have been a part of Inventor from the beginning of when I started using it which was way back in Inventor 5.3.  That was 20 years ago.  I need someone to first off tell me if these will be supported, and if so approximately how long it will be for that to happen. Currently there is no way to unlink files under CBOM or Drawings. For MEs this is no issue as files get pushed here via the MCAD tool. For EEs, once a ECAD package is imported (via WebUI) there is no way to 1) rename files in case of accidental filename typo and 2) simply unlink files from a part.  My team would like to use the Drawings tab to store PDF files such as schematics, PCB assembly drawings etc, The issue is these files persist even after making a new version. It would be very handy if we could simply unlink any file within the WebUI once a part is put back into development state. Show More

The Web UI does now allow for files (drawings, CBOM files, etc) within the web UI to be removed or reuploaded with different name. This becomes an issue for EE's which do not use a native plugin to control files. In development phase, if a wrong file is uploaded that file name can no longer be changed.   I prose that ALL files should be allowed to be removed/unlinked from project/part while item is still in development and have the ability to upload a file with a different file name.  Show More
