We have discovered that it can be difficult to find 'floating items' which have been removed from all BOMs and Projects. This could easily happen by accident, even to Released items. If the user can't remember the item name or any details about it, it would be difficult to find. I propose that a simple way to find 'floating items' would be to add an Advanced Search filter for Item Project = Null. I've been in touch with Upchain Support and they acknowledge there is currently no 'simple' way to find floating items. They have been very helpful and have suggested to post the idea here. Their response is below: The quickest way to search and find floating Item (Item which does not belong to any Project) would be to know, as you mentioned, its exact Item Number or Item Name. There is no Project = null filter for Item search, as you also pointed out. Other methods to pinpoint your floating Item would be to use multiple search filters which could help in tracking down the needed Item, for example: Creator First Name, Creator Last Name, Item Type, Status, Revision Note, Creation Date... It depends on which Item attributes User remembered, on specific attributes that are linked to this Item, the more attributes are known (were remembered) by the User, easier and faster he/she will able to find the needed Item.
