If a user enters a search criteria where there are more than 1000 results, it gives an error message to refine the search.  In the quick search it returns the top 1000 results (even with the exact same search criteria).   Desire is for the Advanced search to also return the top 1000 results, and have a visual indicator to the user that it is the top 1000 (not the entire result). Use Case. we have a large list of Manufacturer and the user would like to use the Keyboard to navigate to for example "Festo". the current behavior.   the Manufacturer list is a Dropdown list. the user can search the list by pressing "F" for festo. if the list of Manufactures starting with "F" is very long and the user would like to narrow the search by presses "E" after the "F" the list changes to the Manufacturer beginning with "E".   Enhancement. the Search of the Dropdown list should be dynamic. if a user starts searching in the list for the Manufacturer Festo. they could start by pressing "F" getting the List of all starting with "F" continuing to narrow down the results of the search by Pressing "E" getting the results of all Manufacturer starting with "FE"  . continuing by pressing "FES" until "FESTO" is selected or the user chooses this per mouse Click. The window is so small that only about 19 options are visible without scrolling. I'm going to have a lot of categorizations that will make my list very long. Can this list window be a lot bigger or some other kind of pop-up so that more options can be seen at once without scrolling?     Show More

If you click on "Find item" in the cBOM it opens the advanced search window. The Reporter would like to have the "status icons" (R for Rleased, D for Development, O for Obsolete..) to quickly indicate which of the item revisions is the development one. Show More

Currently if I search for a part number via the CAD addin's search icon, it returns all revisions of that part but in a random order. For something with multiple revisions this makes it confusing to pick up the latest revision especially when items have minor revisions as well. It also makes it difficult to identify the item version in development as that is jumbled as well. The search should return the results such that the latest version of the item (dev or released) is at the top adn descending order after that.          Show More

The quick search results in SW Upchain plugin are unsorted at the moment and its very difficult to find the item version you want to open if there are several item versions available in results.   The quick search results have to be sorted by default by either Item major and minor versions or users should have the option to sort them based on custom filters. Provide a way to view the eBOM of items that are not part of any project, when it is opened from Quick Search and Advanced search in Webapp. This should be available for the promoted versions too with the ability to choose the eBOM version.   This feature was available in Thick client and we lost it in when we moved to Upchain cloud. Right now in Upchain Webapp, items need to be in a Project if we have to view its eBOM. If it is not part of any Project, user would have to copy to a ProjectBom temporarily just to see its eBOM.     Show More

This has been the same since I started using Upchain a couple years ago, but anyway: with the Solidworks CAD plugin, when you execute an advanced search through the Advanced Search Window, it will generally take a while to complete. An average user with other things to do and multiple screens to utilize will temporarily divert their attention to a web browser or email while the search completes, clicking off onto another window. When the search completes, the user will attempt to resume interacting with the advanced search window, but as soon as they click on it, the window hides behind Solidworks. Hitting Alt-Tab a couple times can recover the window, but this one of the most annoying bugs in the CAD plugin for me.  Show More

User's often give longer project names and they cannot see full project name in project dropdown, only project number and portion of the project name is visible. Making the project dropdown wider or adding a slider to revel full project names will be beneficial.  Show More

There is no way to search through documents except via the quick search and knowing some or all of the document number.  It would be nice to be able to find a document with some of the number or some of the document file name.  The file option in advance search only searches the CAD files, best I can tell.  It would be very handy to have a document section of the advanced search.   Show More

In current plugin, if project is selected and with "Project BOM" & "Working eBOM" filter selected, search does not return the item despite the item being under the project.   It will be helpful if the search returns the item as BOM anomalies can only be done thru project BOM view. In both the WebApp and the Upchain plugin, when you perform an advanced search, in particular for a purchased part, the Manufacturer attribute/column is not displayed with the results (unless you specifically search by that criteria, and in that case, it's shown in the WebApp results, but not the plugin results.) Please add search box to search for items within the orphan window.    For large assembly CN's, usually there are multiple pages within the orphan window. Navigating between all the pages to find an item is extremely difficult and time confusing. A search box to will help in finding the item efficiently and will be easier for user to review.    Please see attached screenshot.  Show More

The ticketing support system not only has a lot of un-used features for Upchain, because it is like a text machine it does not record our first initiation in the automatic reply email. Also it is very hard to find any attachments you may have provided to help solve your issue and when you try to read back through your email trail there is loads of white space, jargon we don't need to see. In the screen grab attached you will see a perfect example, what did I reply to this email?? Why all the question marks, why no record of my reply email, why so hard to read?   The simplest way to fix this is to just use email, we can email an address with our attachments, log files etc and these follow our ticket from start to finish.   I have team members who choose to suffer any problems they have because the ticketing system takes so long, hard to use, not very intuitive and it is a massive time vampire.   Bring back the old Upchain ticketing system and I am sure other customers would agree we would be a lot happier with the ease, simplicity and efficiency.       Show More

For users who fill out attributes connected to another attributes (for example, German Item Name and English Item Name), it would be useful if the attribute were to lookup a list that was predefined in system and actively suggest to user as the characters are being typed into the attribute box.  This was a feature available in Keytech system. Video attached for reference. In the video, the user types in the German Item name and it shows a list to the user for the available list of German item names and their English counterparts that are defined in PLM. If they were to select an option in there, it will fill out the value for the English Item Name automatically. If required, user can decide not to choose one of the available options or fill out their own values too.   To summarize in points:  The User is typing in a German item name The List will give you suggestion based on the value you are typing. If you choose one of the suggestions, the system fills out the English item name with the connected value to the German one. User also has the ability to over-write the values or add additional info to the English text. Show More

We have discovered that it can be difficult to find 'floating items' which have been removed from all BOMs and Projects. This could easily happen by accident, even to Released items. If the user can't remember the item name or any details about it, it would be difficult to find.   I propose that a simple way to find 'floating items' would be to add an Advanced Search filter for Item Project = Null. I've been in touch with Upchain Support and they acknowledge there is currently no 'simple' way to find floating items. They have been very helpful and have suggested to post the idea here. Their response is below:   The quickest way to search and find floating Item (Item which does not belong to any Project) would be to know, as you mentioned, its exact Item Number or Item Name. There is no Project = null filter for Item search, as you also pointed out. Other methods to pinpoint your floating Item would be to use multiple search filters which could help in tracking down the needed Item, for example: Creator First Name, Creator Last Name, Item Type, Status, Revision Note, Creation Date... It depends on which Item attributes User remembered, on specific attributes that are linked to this Item, the more attributes are known (were remembered) by the User, easier and faster he/she will able to find the needed Item. CAD attributes recollect all the information from the Iproperties in Inventor. It should be a way to search for those attributes in order to find vital engineering parts rather than navigate through BOMs and find the right file.  Show More

We would like to request that users be able to save a custom view in the Quick Search and Advanced Search. See attached images for an example of this current functionality in the CN view and the example of how we would want this implemented in the Advanced Search. This will be useful to users because they may be looking for very specific characteristics of an item- for example, one user usually is looking for PDFs in the Advanced Search, so she wants to set up the columns such that the item number and Major Revision are well within view so she can pick the appropriate revision. This is a time-saver as users do not have to scroll or open the item to see needed characteristics. Show More
