Make the advanced search window stop dodging clicks

This has been the same since I started using Upchain a couple years ago, but anyway: with the Solidworks CAD plugin, when you execute an advanced search through the Advanced Search Window, it will generally take a while to complete. An average user with other things to do and multiple screens to utilize will temporarily divert their attention to a web browser or email while the search completes, clicking off onto another window. When the search completes, the user will attempt to resume interacting with the advanced search window, but as soon as they click on it, the window hides behind Solidworks. Hitting Alt-Tab a couple times can recover the window, but this one of the most annoying bugs in the CAD plugin for me.

To summarize: 

  1. I open an advanced search window from the Solidworks CAD plugin. 
  2. I initiate a search for a random component. 
  3. I click off of Solidworks into a Windows explorer window while I wait for Upchain.
  4. When the search completes, I attempt to click the search result to select it..
  5. The advanced search window instantly hides behind Solidworks
  6. I manually bring the advanced search window back to the foreground so I can continue to do my job. 

 

This does not happen every time, but it happens a lot of the time and for all users who use the Solidworks plugin. It is unclear what makes the difference between the advanced search window hiding and it behaving as expected.

we would like to suggest you report this to our support. Internally we have already logged this issue and preparing an investigation, but if you would like to monitor the progress of the investigation, we advise to open support ticket to which we can then link our internal ticket. This idea is going to be archived since it is not an enhancement request.
