Description : Hello Autodesk Team, I would like to suggest an improvement for Revit’s quantity takeoff and panel management features. Currently, there are limitations when trying to group or source panels based on multiple parameters simultaneously. I am a Revit user working on large-scale projects, such as skyscrapers in New York. Accurately estimating the quantity of panels for tenders and proposals is critical. Often, each panel has 10–15 parameters, but the current grouping and sourcing functionality only allows 4 options for sourcing. This limitation is a major issue for Revit users and significantly slows down workflow. Adding full multi-parameter sourcing would greatly improve efficiency and accuracy. Proposed Solution: Enable the ability to group or source elements that match 100% across all parameters (Family, Level, Notes, Tiles, Dimensions, etc.) directly within Revit, without exporting to Excel. This would eliminate the need for external processing and reduce potential human errors. Benefit : Increase accuracy in quantity takeoffs. Save significant time for users managing large projects. Currently subdivisions have to be scheduled separately from toposolids - however we frequently need to count the same surfaces together (some of which are toposolids, some of which are sub-divisions).  For instance in this example I have one rear garden (A) where there is a relatively simple slope accomplished with a toposolid, while next to this is a more complex rear garden (B) where a subdivision of a shape edited toposolid is the best solution.   We need to be able to quantify the grassed areas here in the same table - but this currently isn't possible - even though they share the same type. when designing a building you're often considering the open space a person needs to move freely (for example the space you need in a hallway, the space someone in a wheelchair needs to move in a building, ...) It would be more beneficial if the people content elements would not be considered as an obstacle in a route analysis but would have an analysis funtction that checks if there are any obstacles in between the circle.   It could be pretty much the same function as the path of travel where you can choose what categories are considered obstacles. It would also be usefull to run this analysis on all "people content" elements of the same type so you could analyse if a building is compatible for people with a disability.   If these families would get their own category you could still use the previous functionality to analyse social distancing but you can also choose to only check against other categories with the same options as the route analysis options.   Show More

Currently when selecting multiple objects in a family, Labels are included in the Family Category quantity of the Selection Filter.  It would be most helpful to have them as a separate list item. Show More

Currently you can only run a schedule of sheets on a current revision. Add ability to run schedule for each individual revision, not just the current revision. Show More

I think this might have been an oversight in development rather than a active decision but the revit distribution system parameter that is required for connecting circuits to electrical equipment is not schedulable. It is available in panel schedule headers and that is how the panelboards are typically being specified but this does not meet the need of specifying disconnects, transformers, and other types of electrical equipment. Please make this parameter schedulable like other built-in parameters such as panel name.   Show More

Many engineers are not using RSA because of its' old and weird interface. Although RSA is very capable and full of very advanced features, people won't use it because the interface is a hassle. Advanced features require opening cascading windows, the closing them up. I mean, it's worse than V/G in Revit.  It is a no brainer to have a common interface. It would save a lot of time for both engineers and software maintainers. I prefer a big window with many tabs (like V/G) instead of many small cascading windows. Everybody would be using a large screen these days, we ain't working in Windows XP anymore.  Show More

Since walls no longer need to have a core layer I got me thinking what if Autodesk pushed the idea farther and allowed us to have multiple structural layers in a wall.  Right now you can only pick a single layer to be a structural element.  My company use a demising wall between apartment units quite often using UL U341 which from Side 1 to side 2 is constructed in the following way Apartment #1 Side 5/8 Gyp 2x4 Wood Stud  1/2" Sheathing (Ply or OSB) 1" air space 1/2" Sheathing (Ply or OSB) 2x4 Wood Stud 5/8 Gyp Apartment #2 Side Now both stud layers in reality are structural.  If we make this a single wall we can only assign the structural element to be one stud layer or the other but no both.  I am not on the structural side of my company but feel this might assign with running structural analysis, Show More

Revit should be fixed to correctly schedule wall material takeoffs at corner conditions. As far as I can tell, Revit currently does not take into consideration the material at the end of the wall at a corner condition if the wall join is butt, even if the wall layer is set to wrap at the ends. I understand that if you set the wall join condition to miter it will perform the material takeoff correctly, but this isn't always a miter condition. What if the the wall has different materials and you actually want the butt join condition? For example, in the screenshot below, 4 walls, 10x10x10 "box", Revit thinks there's 335 SF (84 SF x 4) of finish material; when it should be 400 SF (100 SF x 4).    Show More

For views, schedules,, legends, sheets, allow for basic right clicking to create folders/ sub-disciplines for organization in nesting views/ schedules etc.  Drag and drop would be a nice feature too.  I understand this would not work for Families, but views would be great option to have.     Show More

Adding the ability to select "Number of Phases" in the Properties Palette for the Electrical Design Analysis Tool for Revit '23 and newer.   While trying to use the Electrical Design Analytical tool within Revit '23, when entering our electrical loads for calculations they are all locked/greyed out on 3 phase power in the Properties Palette with no option that I see how to change between a 3 phase or a single phase power source.   Ex. If you enter a 120 Volt load it is always locked at 3 phase causing the calculations to be wrong, instead it would need be 120 V single phase load. Show More

Hi Everyone,   The idea is when transferring model only from Robot to Revit , we should maybe have an option that prevents loads from being transferred. Why in the world Revit doesn't yet have this is beyond me but Revit really needs family and drafting view file size at a minimum available in the API. There should be a file size column in the project browser and analysis tools built into the software. The fact that when a project gets big we are supposed to make educated guesses as to why with the help of 3rd party tools is crazy.  Show More

Currently, if the analytical model has been updated in Revit and the updated configuration is sent to Robot Structural Analysis for analysis, even when "Update only selected part of structure" is selected, any loads that have been applied in Robot are removed and replaced with those defined in Revit.   If there are no loads defined in Revit, the loading (point, area loads etc.) is deleted in Robot.   As there are elements, like "cladding", that can only be defined in Robot and not in Revit, some area loads can currently only be drawing inside of Robot. Because they cannot be hosted from Revit's side.   This means that analytical model changes can no longer be made in Revit and sent to Robot because those area loads would be deleted.  Show More

Some of our team use shortcuts a lot, none at all. We want to gamify the use of shortcuts in our office to encourage staff to use them and improve our efficiency. I can see that through recommendations from Autodesk Insights - efficiency recommendations - that the data of command usage via ribbon vs shortcuts is already being collected. There is just no way at the moment to view that data.  Show More
