Feature Overview Introduce a Labour Difficulty Factor within ProEst that allows estimators to apply a multiplier to labour quantities or productivity rates to account for varying levels of job difficulty and site conditions. Current Challenge Labour estimates are typically calculated using standard productivity rates. However, actual labour requirements can vary depending on factors such as site accessibility, working conditions, complexity of installation, and project-specific constraints. Currently, estimators need to manually adjust labour quantities to account for these conditions. Proposed Functionality Allow users to enter a difficulty factor against labour resources, cost items, or assemblies. The difficulty factor would act as a multiplier against the calculated labour hours. For example: Standard productivity: 1 hour per unit Quantity of work: 100 units Standard labour requirement: 100 hours Difficulty factor: 1.5 Adjusted labour requirement: 150 hours A difficulty factor of 1.0 would represent standard productivity, while 1.5 would indicate that the work requires 50% more labour time than normal. Business Benefits Improve the accuracy of labour estimates by accounting for job-specific conditions. Reduce the need for manual adjustments to labour quantities. Users are requesting the ability to add the same user to multiple workflow roles within an estimate.   For example the user may be the estimator, but also part of the review team. The user needs to be able to added to the estimate team as both the estimator and review workflow roles. Show More

Hi,   Using assemblies within ProEst gives us the ability to swap items out by clicking on the item code and replacing the item. For example changing an item from a 1,000L water cart to a 10,000L water cart.  The issue is when changing this item, the note attached to the item also disappears. Generally speaking this is an assembly specific note rather than an item note so it would be appreciated if the note was kept when changing items. We lose the 'Must be on site by 8AM' note even though its still relevant. Currently, there is no centralized or unified activity log to track changes and activity across Preconstruction modules (such as Takeoff and Estimate). Current Gap: The Project Admin > Activity log only tracks high-level administrative actions (such as member management) rather than detailed user activity within specific Preconstruction tools. While Takeoff features a "Snapshot" tool for point-in-time reference, Estimate lacks an equivalent change history or audit log entirely. Proposed Solution: Expand Project Admin > Activity to include an audit trail covering activity across all Preconstruction tools, or introduce a dedicated Preconstruction Activity Log. Allow project administrators to filter activity, track changes, and view revision history across both Takeoff and Estimate in a single, consolidated view. Regarding ProEst, please consider adding a feature which gives users the ability to add new Cost Types to supplement the standard five (Labor, Materials, Equipment, Subcontractor and Other). Alternatively, having the ability to simply change the descriptions for the existing five Cost Types would work (e.g. change Other to "By Owner" or "2nd Tier Subcontractor"). The Bid module within Forma Preconstruction seems like it is shaping up to be a useful tool and replacement for Building Connected however we noticed it does not have the "Forecast" column on the Bid Packages summary page like Building Connected does.   This is a critical piece as it allows us to see where the total project cost is trending using a combination of estimated costs and soft award sub bid values.   This comes into play during the timeframe where we have some packages soft awarded but not all of them.  Please add this feature. Regarding ProEst, please consider adding a command to the Takeoff tab which allows users to redo an action that was previously undone. Currently, the option to undo the last action is available on the Takeoff tab, but there is no way to redo that same action if a user accidently clicks the "Undo" button.   Additionally, please consider adding the Undo/Redo commands to all other tabs contained within a given estimate (Estimate, Documents, Summary, etc.). Regarding ProEst, please consider adding a feature which gives users the ability to delete multiple selected Items and/or Assemblies on the Estimate and Takeoff tabs in a bulk, simultaneous fashion. There is not currently a way to delete multiple individual Items simultaneously, unless they are contained within an Assembly. If you delete an Assembly, all of its Items will subsequently be deleted. However, there is no way to delete multiple Line Items that you have selected. You can only copy or move multiple Items simultaneously.   To remove undesired Items and/or Assemblies, you have to delete them one at a time which can be a tedious process.   Thank you! Show More

Other bidding database programs have a status for bidders that indicate 'possible' as a bidding status. There are several times where a subcontractor is not sure they can bid or not; they are not saying yes, but not saying no. There should be a status that references Possibly, Might, Tentative, Maybe, Not Sure Yet, or some other term.  Show More

In ProEst, it would greatly improve estimator efficiency if typical keyboard shortcuts (such Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V, Esc, etc.) worked on the Takeoff tab. With respect to the Escape key specifically, users would benefit from having the ability to exit their currently selected tool by pressing the Escape key. Currently, the only way to exit the current tool that they are using is by selecting another tool (such as the arrow/select tool, an Assembly, zoom tool, etc.).    Please also note that, when you add a new custom Item to the Takeoff tab using the search bar located above the drawing image, pressing the Enter key does not initiate the command to add the new custom Item to the takeoff. Instead, you have to click on the save/disk icon located to the right of the Item name, unit of measure, etc. in the search bar. Please consider adding these features. Thank you! Show More

In Hub>Library>Preconstruction>Costs>Labor there are 3 set labor rate column names (Standard Rate), (Union Rate), (Prevailing Rate).  It would be nice to be able to either edit the names of these columns or even better be able to add additional column names. Show More

We are requesting the ability to Duplicate a Project (or its Estimate) within Forma Preconstruction, similar to the functionality that existed in ProEst. This is critical for teams managing multi-phase projects where an estimate from one phase (e.g., Schematic Design) serves as the starting point for the next phase (e.g., Design Development or GMP). Requested functionality: A "Duplicate Project" option that copies the full estimate structure, items, assemblies, and markups into a new project Ability to choose what is carried over (full copy vs. selective copy of divisions/sections) The original project remains intact and unmodified after duplication Duplicate inherits key project metadata (owner, location, project type) with the ability to rename and re-scope before proceeding Without this capability, estimators are forced to manually rebuild or copy data across phases — a time-consuming process that introduces risk of data loss and inconsistency. The request is to enable Advance Recovery visibility at the Payment Application level, both within the product interface and in Cost Reports, including total advance granted, total recovered to date, remaining balance, and associated tax, without requiring line-item detail. Users need to compare how much advance is recovered across payment applications (e.g., Payment Application 1 vs 2) to support financial control, executive reporting, and contract follow-up. In ProEst, it would be useful if there was an option to add a column to the Estimate tab which calculates the cumulative total cost for a single subcontractor. For example, if you input a single subcontractor's pricing in the Subcontractor cost type field for multiple Items, the only way to determine the subject subcontractor's total cost is by manually adding up the costs for each individual Item. It would be beneficial to have a column that automatically combines the subject subcontractor's individual costs into a grand total (which would effectively be the subcontract amount). Show More

A feature that is missing from Takeoff that is commonly found in other quantity takeoff platforms is the ability to apply a multiplier to  project Locations.  This  is essential for projects with typical unit types like apartments and hotels or mid-rise / high-rise buildings with identical floors.  Currently the only work around is to copy and paste takeoff numerous times which is extremely tedious especially if you have to go back and change anything... or do the math for the multiplier of the unit types/floors outside of Autodesk takeoff.     A multiplier feature would be especially helpful now that Estimate is available in the Preconstruction platform.  Estimate is almost useless for multi-unit / mid-rise / high-rise projects without that feature as there is no easy way to capture the full scope of the project and build a complete estimate without a lot of redundant takeoff work.
