We are requesting the ability to Duplicate a Project (or its Estimate) within Forma Preconstruction, similar to the functionality that existed in ProEst. This is critical for teams managing multi-phase projects where an estimate from one phase (e.g., Schematic Design) serves as the starting point for the next phase (e.g., Design Development or GMP).
Requested functionality:
- A "Duplicate Project" option that copies the full estimate structure, items, assemblies, and markups into a new project
- Ability to choose what is carried over (full copy vs. selective copy of divisions/sections)
- The original project remains intact and unmodified after duplication
- Duplicate inherits key project metadata (owner, location, project type) with the ability to rename and re-scope before proceeding
Without this capability, estimators are forced to manually rebuild or copy data across phases — a time-consuming process that introduces risk of data loss and inconsistency.
