Create the ability to modify size of a viewport on a sheet after a view is placed, and have the viewport actually control what is visible vs what is cut off (like AutoCAD).     Crop regions get part way there, but sometimes I actually do want to see annotations that get cut off, like dimensions.  If i didn't want to see it, I wouldn't have put it in the view.   Show More

This could be useful for plumbing and mechanical items as well, but specifically for electrical having the ability to have a list of equipment to select from, and then place information from that equipment elsewhere in the project. This would effectively work how View References work (I love them), but for equipment. We could then customize the reference family to include whatever specific electrical information we'd desire, depending on where we're using the reference.   Until we get a proper riser/one-line option, we could at least use this to draw "dumb" boxes for one-lines with information directly from the equipment we are placing in the project. Want to change a panel from 200A to 400A later? Not only will your panel schedule change, but your one-line will correct also.   Right now, the only way I've come even close to having a proper riser/one-line built within Revit is by creating sections and cropping the views to only include the equipment, and using a custom tag to display the desired electrical specifications. This becomes problematic both in setup time, as well as if the equipment ever relocates. "Custom view properties window"(filtered)  and create multiple properties windows.   Filter properties and groups to be visible in a given property window, and save the layouts similar to how Adobe manages its tools and stores 'workspaces' or collections of these views and layouts.   This would allow filtering or breakouts of properties to isolate at different phases of projects.     Show More

If I copy an item to be placed in some levels, I'd prefer to have the opportunity to select them (the levels) with a check box when these are scattered. In this way I could do this in one time only without pasting more time. It's a time consumption way of doing. Thanks  Luca Show More

Revit's "change it once and update everywhere" is a great feature. However, this causes problems when new users come on board that have to contribute to a project and are not yet experts. They delete, copy, move or otherwise edit elements by mistake (or on purpose) which then ripples through the whole drawing set.   The proposal is the following:   1. Every Revit view should have an instance property called "Auto-update." If enabled (by default) all elements would be updated as is currently designed. If disabled, Revit would keep the graphics of the current view at that time.   2. A green or black frame would be displayed around the view, and the line work could be half-toned or otherwise differentiated from a regular view.    3. When "Auto-update" is enabled again, the view would regenerate to the current state of the model.   4. You would be able to tag and dimension frozen views, but they would reference the old values. You would not be able to update element parameters in these frozen tags. Selecting elements in these views would not select them in any other view.    5. Behind the scenes this could be treated like a hidden design option, that is not visible in any other view. There are lot of time consuming ancillary but very necessary tasks like various analyses for masses or for actual Revit models, components placement,creation of different types of schedules, estimation, various detail views creation, annotation, sheet/ CD sets creations, bidding docs creation etc. Is it possible to apply some degree of automation for this works, once a standard mass or revit model created? For example all type of analyses on a mass like climate,solar, energy, lighting etc could be performed with a single click as well standard furniture sets, room finishes etc components will be set in a plan or whole project automatically or other above tasks. On behalf of a user from Germany: Selection dots should appear at selecting linework overrides for cut elements in section views   Currently there is no selection dot at the ends of lines created by linework override on the top of cut elements in section view by design. If the elements are projected under the lineweork then there is selection dots. Show More

Please allow the Controls to keep their appropriate extent. Either justified Center, or Left, or Right. The problem I have is when moving the extent of a line based detail component the Controls move, and make the Drafting View extent larger than it ought to be.   Thank you for your consideration.
