The Manage Cloud Models dialog is bloated and difficult to navigate if you have more than a few projects. As the BIM Manager, I have over one hundred projects to scroll through, and the fact that I can't search or start typing to jump to a project (like in Windows Explorer) makes this task much harder.    The large skyline image is completely unnecessary, as it's the same for every project (doesn't pull from the BIM 360 project image) and takes up an inordinate amount of space. Up until Revit 2019 you could see all projects currently associated with your given Revit installation. That way you pre-select into which project's data you wanted to enter before entering the cloud. In later versions of Revit (I tested 2022 and 2023), you are required to change into the cloud environment and then take care of the project you wanted. Often times one assumed that it was still set to the project one had opened last time only to find oneself missing a folder. Show More

When working on a large existing project with different packages for demo and new work that require a download large file separately, link models, CAD links, excel tables, purge and repack to zip and upload to cloud ProjectWise. It would take close to an hour or more. It is best to run it in the batch filing with power automation, or in the command line batch process.     Show More

This used to be a problem with desktop connector itself, when navigating through windows, however it seems to still exist when navigating via Revit through Autodesk Docs. Revit needs to respect the setting below when it is set to "show folder path" = "on"      This will help with the limited 255 character folder path depth by removing additional descriptions on folders.      Show More

Good day  i have been thinking about the Revit programs and i have watched a few videos ,i am a electrical contractor  and the design and planning is a super important aspect to any project ,but where i Currently stay and work in Cape town South african the contractor's is being killed by design changes and additional work ,as this is never added to be paid for during the project course  I have been thinking about this idea to incorporate Revit to actually run the complete project costing and any additional work  At the end of the day a project comes down to cost and if anybody actually made profit out of the projects ,i see and hear about contractors closing there doors every week due to the sytem that is being followed currently in South Africa,and i think the is a global issue at the moment ,i don’t see  why we can't do everything online and through a program and stop sending 100 emails around that no one is giving attention to anyways  Hope i can get involved to assist  to take Revit to the next level and that i can share my ideas with the design teams   Show More

When you select the path for your new cloud collaboration project it would be helpful if the browser that does not remember where it collaborated the last time would show other project files already present in the folder selected by the user. These could be shown in italics or greyed out so that it is apparent they are not to be selected. Show More

When you are opening a cloud model or a largish central file, there will be a window informing you on the progress Revit has made on opening up. Why not enhance these infos with the latest user's comment on the last synch. These comments are somewhat hard to find and are rarely looked at. If there were some sort of latest project news in your idle time, people would understand better why to enter comments at all. Show More

It is noticeable how much autodesk has been concerned with updating its systems for architecture professionals. Even if the level of detail of the model is high, some families could have a low level of detail, making the model lighter. This would allow inserting models with high detail obtained from external suppliers with the option of simple visualization at a low level of detail, avoiding having to create two families of the same equipment, one with a simple level and the other with a high level of detail. A tool for creating a custom alert (esp. for worksharing projects) that pops up whenever the project or a specific view is opened. This could be used to communicate project specific information to new users, and new information to ongoing users. A pop-up that goes away when acknowledged (or sim.) would be more conspicuous if a person has to turn it off. Maybe there are ways to customize these options as well? Our users are experiencing long synchronize times on BIM360 while working on large projects. This in it self is expected, the part we'd wish to see improvement on is synchronizations failing due to warnings. Most of the warnings are insignificant like, Move Room Tag to Room, Multiple Spaces are in the Same Region, You Own the Element but you Must Reload Latest, etc. All of these warnings make the synchronize fail so that you can select an option, then you have to go through the whole long synchronize process again.   Note: Most of these warnings are from reloading a linked model.    If you're going to suggest reloading all models prior to every sync, that's not an option for us as the models we are working on have 10-25 links for a total of 3+Gb, we'd be sitting there for 45 minutes reloading all of them for every sync. Contact the Google Stadia Team and see what they can do for Revit to silo it with BIM 360. Discuss converting Revit to the Stadia Cloud as an application and making Revit usable from Chrome. The AutoDesk desktop applications are the last separate silo in their BIM 360 infrastructure architecture. Models uploaded into BIM360 are not visible to Revit and can't be opened, unless they go through a process of downloading into user's computer, opened detached, saved, then re-uploaded by Revit - all this to make the model visible to Revit. I'm proposing we eliminate this and make Revit simply see the model, for opening or linking, then offer to turn the model into a "cloud model" where it can be worked on. Show More

I have started to use BIM 360 Design for projects at my firm.  Getting the file to work as a central model housed on the cloud is fine, but the association with Design Collaboration portion seems to take a long time before I can publish anything.  Maybe a progress or status bar that can give us an idea of how long it will take for the file/set to be able to be previewed in the cloud?  It would be so much better than the never-ending spinning wheel.   Show More
