Either Publish the shared coordinate from Revit to the point cloud file or get it from the point cloud file. Ability to use shared coordinates between Revit and Recap     Example: When you start a new project or have an existing one. The first thing to do is to define the shared coordinate where everyone sticks to. This can be a physical object (survey marker) in the real world like you see below. When working in Sheets/Views and/or Project files with really long titles[1] (such as when working in our detail library), the "Autodesk Revit 2017.2 - ", etc. drops off as shown below:     It would be nice to have an OPTION to force "Autodesk Revit 2017.2" or just "Revit 2017.2" to display in the title bar (and truncate more of the view/sheet title). NOTE: I would NOT want this to happen ALL the time, as this is only critical when I have multiple versions of Revit open and am switching back and forth (typically when working on our detail library). When working on regular projects, it's more helpful to see more of the view/sheet title. Basically, I'm just looking for more control of the behavior - what takes precedence. Despite being able to link IFC files, it is not possible to acquire its coordinates. To workaround this limitation, I need to open the IFC file to create a RVT file, then link this RVT file and acquire its coordinates. It would be more straightforward to be able to get coordinates from the ifc file. Show More

HERE IS A LINK to an article and screencast which I created relating to this issue...    The problem with aligned dimensions is that you struggle to reference to a proper or desired Reference Point when instances are not parallel to each other.   Another problem is that you do not have the option under general modeling to use/draw a "POINT" (Similar to the point reference option in AutoCAD).   There is only one place in Revit where a Point Reference is available which is under conceptual mass modeling or mass families. (See image below):      Furthermore, using mass point references is "messy" when used, so this is not an option or viable workaround at this stage.    It should really not be difficult for the development team to implement the "Point" or "Point Reference" under the general Revit Draw Toolbox. It will resolve a couple of issues for software users and it will simplify certain workflows. I have a client that wish that Revit´s functionality of Copy Monitor can accept all of the items at the list in the Coordination Review so that we do not get the error when renaming grids.   Example: One file with Grids, numbered 1-4, and den Copy Monitored these into a new file. Now got back to the original file and renamed the Grid to 4-1.  Once I go to Coordination Review on the file, and wish to rename the Grids, I get issues, because the names is already in use.   See the attached images...   Show More

Area Plans are treated differently than other views. When you do a detail callout in an area plan, you get the box without the detail callout bubble. The new view is created as expected. Also View references can not point to area plans since they are omitted from the list to choose from. This leaves a gap in the documents that has to be filled by using dummy tags or text which is very unrevit. Please allow us the same tools with Area Plans as is available to other views. Show More

Users should be able to edit rise drop styles separately, and create new styles as needed.    A drop in duct, pipe etc is normally indicated with hidden lines, while a rise is indicated with solid lines. I would like to have a way to move (and possily rotate) the viewname-label that is part of my section head. Sometimes when annotating views, there is a lot of information in one place. In these situations the viewname of my section marker often covers information. It would be nice to be able to move it ,separate from the marker, to make the drawing more organised. This could be in the same way as moving the text/value box in dimension lines. Show More
