Hi, I would like the ability to import data from navisworks to inventor, perhaps through a file format that preserves the solids/surfaces in navis and can be imported to inventor. I would like that Inventor PDF Translator could flatten layers on exported PDFs (the DWGTranslator already offers this possibility). this feature currently missing PDF documents are often used as neutral archiving format for multiple reasons. One reason is that they can be lean, efficient and indexed for searches. Even if in the DTP industry PDF layers are leveraged for different scopes, in 99,5% of cases in the Manufacturing industry they are totally ignored. Therefore it should be possible to flatten layers to reduce document size, keep PDF slimmer and better usable. Please update Inventor Studio enviroment. It's the poorest module in Inventor at the moment.   It would be great to do the things that we used to do in Showcase (same things, same quality, same speed, same facility) in Inventor.   It would be great to create high quality renderings in Inventor in a short time and with simple settings.   It would be great to create movies and animation, in realisting high quality, in a short time with very simple settings.   We need an intuituve way to create animation, like Showcase did.   It would be great work in a a real time rendering enviroment.   It would be great to animate constraint easily.   It would have been great to dismiss Inventor Studio instead Showcase                         Show More

How many times have you needed to edit a part, then after the edit you get this.. "Missing or invalid origin for defining sketch coordinate system..."     This is because the sketch is using an EDGES to define both the coordinate origin and direction.  When I see this error, I always redefine the sketch origin using the orgin Center Point.  If I have to define a new axis direction, I will use one of the orgin axis for the definition. OnceI do this, I NEVER have to do it again for this part.  It makes things so much easier, but it takes a few minutes to do if there are several sketches that fail.   In order for Inventor to be more stable, why not use the orgin center point and origin axis to define the sketch coordinate system?   If I never had to edit my parts, then the way it is now would be fine.... but not having to make changes is not how it is in the real world.   Thanks, Kirk Show More

The entire working geometry is needed for plan derivation in Revit. It would be really great to have Dynamo integrated in Inventor, in a similar way that now is integrated in Revit   Dynamo is being developed very fast. And from last year they have totally reorganized it to allow to be hosted in different platforms.   Its internal solid engine is similar to the Inventor one. And If you are used to create solid or surface geometry in Inventor you will be familiar very soon with its methods for solid and surface geometry. Indeed, the Inventor part environment seems a rather convenient platform for Dynamo as pure geometrical exploration tool.   There are already some personal efforts to integrate Dynamo in Inventor: https://github.com/frankfralick/DynamoInventor   Because you can use Dynamo as a standalone app and import/export sat files, you can currently manage somehow to use Dynamo complementary to Inventor. Some years ago AutoCAD got a facelift that included a macro-recorder. You could tell it to 'start record' and type in a series of picks, clicks and commands, then tell it to 'stop record'...then name it. Thereafter, all you had to do was invoke the macro thus saved (by name) and a single-pick followed by a 'return' keystroke and you were through that series of actions. This was great for repetitive tasks.    Please add this to Inventor, especially in the .iam environment. Right away, the business of adding 'color' to parts that don't get painted until they are in a weldment will become less tedious and time-consuming.
