Currently the administrator can define specific property columns in Vault Thin Client in general and applythem for all users. However, the configuration does not apply once we use the "search" section? There is no "By default" button to choose either. If the ‘Full view’ option is activated, the performance in the thin client is significantly better. This option should therefore be activated automatically or handled like admin options. So that every user has the same settings.   Show More

In the Thin Client it is quite easy to get from an item to the attached documents. Unfortunately that is not true for the opposite direction. While I can see if a document is linked to an item, I have found no way yet to jump there. Please give us a way to get from the document to the item, just as it is possible in the Thick Client. Many times we have a pdf open and have to redo an export to pdf because it is open. Can this be defaulted to "View in Window" command on double click or right click open, on pdfs only. It still opens with the same default pdf viewer, but no longer locks it on the local hard drive and can still be written to.  Show More

Autodesk Development Team should bring back the functionality to plot list of files from BOM tab on Autodesk Vault Thin Client 2022.     In Vault Thin Client 2022 plot button is missing in BOM tab. Our company's standard for online authentication is to use Windows PIN authentication (thousands of employees).  We are trying to rollout ThinClient, but employees cannot easily access the website (because no other form of authentication is set up for the average employee).  Please consider supporting PIN authentication - it will help with adoption of Autodesk products at our workplace. From my IT online case autodesk response: "The PIN Authentication is part of Microsoft's Windows Hello for Business, which Autodesk does not support and has no current plans to support at this time." In the Vault 2022 thin client, the addition of the Forge viewer is wonderful.  However, I find the support for image files to be lacking.  While we have a lot of CAD files in our Vault, the vast majority of files are PDF and TIF.  It would great if users could view these files in browser without having to download every single file just to see it on screen. Would it be possible to have better control of what is displayed on the Item Master records Associated files. Currently you see everything, or you can uncheck "Show Non-Primary File Links" and see only the Primary linked file. This causes issues for us when you have an idw linked as a secondary file link. You can only see the ipt or iam file (Primary file).   With "Show  Non-Primary File Links" checked, the Primary and Secondary files often get lost in the noise caused by the Secondary Subcomponent file links. This is especially true when a component is used on hundreds of assemblies. This is particularly an issue for our Manufacturing department using the thin Client. I'm not aware of anyway to control this in the thin client environment.   Instead of the "Show Non-Primary file links", it would be nice to have check boxes to include the specific types of files you would like to display. User missed the DWG underlays at Vault Viewing and Vault webclient Viewing. There is a download button in the file tab so you can download files in batches. However, in the Change Order>Record tab, you can select and download them one by one. Same as the file tab, batch download should be enabled.     Show More

Hi,    Vault user (important for production site) cannot measure angle between surfaces in Vault Thin Client (Forge Viewer).  For production purposes it is significant to chceck e.g. the exact bend angle of the sheet metal.  "Old technology" - Autodesk Design Review is doing great with it.  In Forge Viewer it is based on 3 points (not 2 surfaces) without clear method to check the exact angle in some cases.  I attached some screenshots.    ADR:    Forge Viewer (Vault Thin Client):   Regards, Maciej Stawowski   Show More

Currently in Autodesk Forge, when a component is selected from the model panel, it enters automatically in an isolated view. This causes other components to become transparent. In the parameters, we managed to show other components but in a “semi-transparent” view:   Most of the time with big assembly more than 500 components, it is easier to find the part name in the model panel, select the part to view in the graphic zone (to review how the component is assembled or positioned for example).   Is it possible to have the same viewing mechanisme as in Design Review because the isolation mode in Autodesk Forge is extremely uncomfortable, especially those with colour-blind problems (Daltonian).    For example when a component is selected in the model panel in Design Review, the component is highlighted with another color instead of entering the isolated view.   The current Autodesk Forge parameters are extremely limited and it would be great to retrieve the same fonction as Design Review for Vault Client and Vault Thin Client. As we get more and more Thin Clients on our Production Floor. Would like to see a better / more efficient method of accessing/viewing files from Items. Would like to see it mimic the Thick Client a little more and be way more intuitive.   This could be done by renaming the "Properties" tab in the Thin Client "General" as in the Thick Client or vice versa. Make this and all nomenclature consistent and in the same order between clients   Second thing, is to add the files that are linked the the item on the first tab ("Properties"/"General") when the item open similar to this screen shot. (YELLOW BOX). Why make them go thru multiple picks and tabs when all they want to do is view the 2D/3D files.   Lastly, add a view button just to the left of the filename so it's obvious what that pick will do (RED ARROW).     Our use, and most other companies will intend to use the the Thin Client is on the production floor or users outside of Engineering department. Majority if not all are non-CAD users and most are NOT computer savvy or minimal experience in using computers. I feel the Thin Client is primarily a drawing / model viewer and the more obvious and intuitive it is to use, it will get those already intimidated users onboard and make there jobs more more efficient and prone to less mistakes.  We don't want them picking and hoping for the best or worse, getting frustrated and not utilize this awesome technology.    Best, Steve H.
