Sometimes shop users using the thin client try to view a dxf file and when nothing shows up they click on the update visualization button.  Then it just sits in the queue until I go and remove it.  It would be nice if the option just wasn't there to try and update the visualization for files that it can't create a dwf for. Users want the same or similar functionalities in the thin client user interface as we have in the Vault (fat) client. For example, the slider function when columns become wider or the number of columns increases. Currently, users always have to drag the column widths to get a correct display. The the previous iteration of the Vault thin client, the administrator could set the default columns that were visible. This doesn't seem like an option in the new thin client. This would be helpful for our user base if this was configurable to hide the columns that aren't important and show the columns that are as a starting point. Show More

When viewing an Inventor file in thin client, you only see the master design representation. When you publish a dwf from Inventor you get to chose the representation:   The jobprocessor always takes the master design view representation. Vault has always had an app that can be added on to compare two .idw's from the App Store. Anything in the works to add a similar capability right into the new Forge Viewing technology in Vault and not use the add-on? Just watched a demo from Civil 3D and BIM Collaboration and the had a really cool drawing compare multiple compare options with an over-lay and also a slider bar. Autodesk Vault is able to add permission for Read/Write/Delete/Download. It will be good if users for Autodesk TC will have permission to View preview of file (Autodesk Viewer of PDF/dwf) but if they don't have download permissions option for downloading should be disable for them. It's nice that you can create Vault STEP files from Vault 2024 as standard. However, if you work with model states within Inventor, the STEP files (DXF from sheet metal) created via the job cannot be used by the user because they are incorrect or not useable. Currently, a STEP is only created from the "primary" model state (this also applies to DWF and DXF from sheet metal development and 3D PDF). We are of the opinion that there needs to be a configuration switch that either excludes all models with a model state from generating Vault jobs with "neutral" data or a way to generate correct neutral data from all model states. Hello.   Thin Client "Find" function enhancement (same as in "Design Review") is needed.   In "Design Review" you could simply search for specific component ("Find" list was created) and it was found, highlighted and zoomed in when selected. Also it was focused in the model tree (if it was outside of model tree view).   In "Thin Client", it shows the list of same occurrences, but you have to know which ones you are looking for otherwise you must restart the search (there is no "Find" list) and when selected from the list, everything else in assembly disappears (or it is partly hidden, if setting is enabled), but component is not focused in the assembly nor in the model tree, so you have to find it, which is quite difficult on assemblies with a lot of parts.         Best regards, Rene Repina Show More
