Support for Image Files on Thin Client Viewer

Support for Image Files on Thin Client Viewer

In the Vault 2022 thin client, the addition of the Forge viewer is wonderful.  However, I find the support for image files to be lacking.  While we have a lot of CAD files in our Vault, the vast majority of files are PDF and TIF.  It would great if users could view these files in browser without having to download every single file just to see it on screen.

PDF files can be viewed today in the Thin Client. What are the typical, important additional file format, which you would like to view in the Thin Client w/o additional download the file and open this into a browser or a specific viewer?

At a minimum, I'd like to see JPG and PNG files which are common web friendly formats.  We have an extensive TIF library, which I know presents a problem due to their file size, but I wonder if Forge could be used to make the conversion from TIF to JPG (or PNG) on the fly.  Another option might be WEBP files see the following link for the Google article. An image format for the Web  |  WebP  |  Google Developers

If I needed to convert all of our TIF files to another format, that is what I will do, but I want to see if there is a way to do this without going through the huge task to convert image files.

From within Vault, a tif image starts windows picture viewer, why can't the thin client do the same?

The pdf viewer in the thin client is a great addition. Id also like to be able to see tif files please as we still have about 55% of our drawings in tif format

My intention for our on site servers is to put all relevant company documents in to Vault and remove our mapped share drives. This includes PDFs, TIFs, JPGs, GIF, etc. that have been viewable with the thick client, however since the thin client does not support basic image files in the viewer I will have to delay this migration since we use photos taken of our products for reference in support, quality, and shipping.

Having this ability in the thin client will allow our company to finely control access to company based information, reduce our server requirements, and leverage the speed at which Vault operates at for enhanced searches.

We also have an extensive TIF library of our old designs and would love to have them viewable in the thin client like they are in the thick client.
