Hello, In Cable & Harness feature it is not possible to show shields. Since shields are braided meshes or folios there is no feature to show shields as wrapping the cores/wires of the cable. The shields needs to be connected to the ground by connecting them directly (or sometimes with an extra wire by soldering) to a grounding terminal/a pin or by mechanical connection by touching the connector frame. I have kind of a solution that represent the shield as a core/wire inside the cable. However to realize the connection to the connector I need to define a pin which is not the case because the shield needs to be connect mechanically to frame to ensure grounding via connector frame, not like a cable core to a pin. And shield is not a core of the wire so representing it as a core may be misleading the connection method of the shield fot the production. Instead of showing the shield as a core, there may be an improvement to realize the shield connection like representing the shield like a inner segment as a braided and connecting to connector with showing pin-to-pin or connector to connector connection. There is another issue for to realize the shield connection doing it ".EMX" connection between Autocad Electrical and Inventor. The shielded cable marker has been used to do the connection. Seems that doing the connection in Inventor with .EMX connection, Inventor does not take into account the shielded cable marker. It just takes into account the connections which are done by pin-to-pin. So, putting putting shielded cable marker has no functionality on Inventor side different than normal cable marker. Inventor has no shield logic or feature. It addresess the first item I shared, which is it would be more effective if inventor could have shield logic and could be able to do the connection accordingly from the Autocad Electrical. For instance: Even if it is not a productive and the true way to represent the shields in inventor, if we want to show the shield we have to represent the shield as a wire in Autocad Electrical. First recording should be the process for me to show the shields both connected to GND pins. If I do this, even it is the one cable's shield, Inventor does not understand or there is no exchange of this data with .EMX connection, it is not possible to do the shield connection to the GND pins. It would be great if there will be exchange of this information to Inventor with .EMX. So, there is a cable and has 2 shielded marker, both markers connected to different GND pins on different connectors. If Inventor may be capable to do the connection would be a good enhancement on the process. Inventor does not taking into account the information in ACADE that there is a cable and has two ends, these ends connected to pins so, there should be a physical connection between these pins. I have to connect GND pins to do the connection via .EMX file between ACADE and Inventor. Like in the 2nd recording. Basically, I connected 2 GND pins directly with and extra wire and set this wire is a new wiretype (SHIELD_P2P) which is freezed in layer table. I am not allowed to show this connection in my schematic. With this trick, in Inventor it is able to be connected by using "Create Connection" feature in Inventor. Since it is a alternative solution to have all connection in Inventor with .EMX connection with ACADE, it would be a really productive enhancement to have a real shield feature in Inventor and doing the shield connection with .EMX between ACADE and Inventor.
