I have already created a drawing for a component and thought about the complete and correct dimensioning. Now I have to change the component, e.g. "only" add or remove a chamfer. In the drawing, however, the dimensions that were on the edges in question disappear. I have to look through the drawing again and think about which dimensions could have disappeared. Is it possible to do this in such a way that dimensions do not simply disappear, but are shown in red, for example, because they have lost their reference? This is already the case for some, but for others the dimensions disappear completely. Show More

So I've been using folders lately to try to organize my assemblies a bit. However if I'm trying to edit a part I would usually click on it and find it highlighted in the tree. However when the part is in a folder you won't see it unless you have the folder expanded. Can it be made so the whole folder will highlight if it's closed and contains the selected part?   You can see in the image below I have a panel selected. It's in the folder as shown but there's no way to know that unless the folder was expanded.   Show More

Whenever a projected geometry curve or point is broken, you have to go hunting through the sketch to find it. This can be a huge pain, especially if the sketch is large or if the broken geometry is covered by something else. It would be so much easier if there were just an option to delete all broken references. After that, it would be easy to just find where the sketch is no longer fully constrained and make new projections as necessary. The user is only going to delete the broken geometry anyways; there's no reason to force them to try to find a needle in a haystack in order to do that.   Alternatively, if you could show projected geometry in the tree so that the user can just click on the broken geometry and click "show in window" or right-click >> delete it, that would be even better, but maybe harder to implement. I personally think to add a dark mode to Inventor is a great idea, as many users who use Inventor are staring into there monitors/screen for a long period of time and I believe this feature would reduce eye strain and it would also give fusion a classic look and feel, and also let the user the option of how dark and light they what there UI to be. (Example below)   if this is not possible an alternative feature could be a blue light filter which also reduces eye strain.   For example Adobe CC products - Show More

Inventor shouldn't be prompting for a save on a file that hasen't changed.  I'll give an example.  I insert assembly1 into assembly2 and set it to positional rep1.  I save assembly2 and close it.  Now I re-open assembly2 and it asks me if I want to update.  I say yes and now it asks if I want to check out assembly1.  I say no since I haven't done anything to it.  Now Inventor tells me that I need to save assembly1 and assembly2 even though I just saved them and the only thing I have done is open them.  I think this is wrong and it can create a ton of unneeded versions of the assembly when using vault. Revision clouds are now included (and not an add-on) and able to be reshaped, but I would like to be able to change the arc size/density. I'm also having issues where the clouds are layered behind some objects - namely text boxes - which makes clouding note changes difficult.   Thanks! Show More

There should be an option to get each document object of each model state in model sates of part/assembly document without activation of each. Now to get each document you need to activate model state, and then you are able to get it. In that way it's takes more time to do something (because of display time). Show More

The ability to suppress features and create Level Of Detail representations in part files would be very useful.   Example 1: I have a bent tube that goes into an assembly in the formed state. However, I would like to detail this part to show both the pre-formed and formed states of the part on my drawing. Currently I can not do this without creating additional files (derived parts or iParts).  Ideally I would be able to suppress the Bend Part feature as a LOD to place the pre-formed part view. Example 2: I have a part file with a lot of detailed edges and surfaces and I use this part over and over in my assemblies, I would like to be able to suppress features as a LOD an use the simplified version in the assembly, but still have the detailed version for my part drawing. Again we'd like to be able to do this, without having additional files to track.     Show More

Hi Autodesk,   Now we have Autodesk Inventor HSM, it will be nice to have a new feature that sweeps a solid allong a path. When you use a profile milling it is hard to design the result. But when you simulate it within Inventor HSM, you see how the results look.   So please make a feature to design easier results like this.     Show More
