It occurred to me during Autodesk University after the ESRI/Autodesk collaboration announcement, if there was ever an application with a need for deep ESRI integration, it was Infraworks. While you can import content in the form of a SHP file or via connections to a geospatial database, InfraWorks lacks little or no "EXPORT" capability for ESRI formats.    Therefore, I propose a series of features be added, which provide BOTH import from an ArcGIS system and export of newly created content back to said ArcGIS system (database). In many ways, InfraWorks seems the ideal frontend to creating new geospatial data for inclusion is a robust ESRI database. With the addition of some more accurate CAD tools in InfraWorks along with a robust I/O system in place and connected to an ESRI database, you would have a dynamite "geospatial" collection at hand. Granted, ArcGIS is not an Autodesk product, I am sure it could be part of a special collection, aimed at specific resellers of geospatial turnkey systems.    This would also require adding in tools to manipulate the model schema, such as adding layers in Model Explorer and/or defining custom metadata for the element properties.  Show More

To solve a common workflow for Architects that need to make conpect designs of urbanism, it should be very usefull to transform/convert surfaces, street, runway, pads and any terrain adjustment made on INFRAWORKS to editable objects in REVIT.   Today, we can use FORMIT to import an OBJ file, and then Export it as DXF file to import in Revit and convert to Toposurface.   For example, a runway or a street would be converted to a Floor, surfaces to Terrain, and so on... and maybe they could be recognized as Site Design elements.   With Infraworks integration into Revit we cover the early stages of Conceptual Design. This is common for Government first estimations of investiment, or Huge Condominium Master Plan.      Show More

When Syncing a model I would like to be able to Cancel.   This isn't possible yet and causes problems because upfront it isn't clear how long a Sync will take. Only during the Sync a remaining time is shown. Show More

Autodesk needs to bring back InfraWorks LT. A free viewer that allows our clients to download a small condense down version of InfraWorks. This free viewer only needs to allow the client/developer/user to pan and orbit around and make comments, that's it. I don't need no other functionality for now. The current free Autodesk Viewer to view models through BIM 360 or share views have terrible resolutions. I cant share that type of resolution and slow poor performance with the clients. I need the client to see exactly what I see in my InfraWorks model. Most of the type when I share a Shared View it does not work for the client because they are using a low end laptop or tablet, so the view never comes up. So please Autodesk bring back InfraWorks LT, remove all the feature/design icons and tools.  Show More

With the update to 2019, Infraworks moved from its own cloud groups to utilize the BIM 360 Document Management Service. This change brought the loss of a few things as well as the gain of a few things but one big issue that is occurring is that if a User has been invited to a projects docs service, they lose the ability to save their project locally and are forced to push to the cloud.   An example of the situation could be that a user is invited to another companies host for a project, while their own firm does not have a bim 360 subscription. Now if that user would like to use Model Builder for one of their own projects, they cannot save locally. This should not be the case. Show More

The overlay of pdfs and images on top of the terrain is a great idea. If that same functionality can be added to overlay on objects like buildings, billboards, etc. would be a great option. For example when you can get a high resolution photo of the front of an existing building and you can apply it directly to the front face would make the 3d model more realistic. Show More
