Copying Component Roads to Another Model

Copying Component Roads to Another Model

We need a simply way to transfer component roads from one model to another. I know we can move the files across, but this is the most elegant solution.

How about a design center similar to AutoCAD?

Hi @ramesh_sridharan,

We have just updated to InfraWorks 2021.1 in the hope of receiving this feature but we still cannot see how to do it. Please could you confirm how this now works, as I can't find anything in the online help either?

@T.Stevens, the intention of closing this idea was from a user suggested that this can be done by getting the desired data in and out of the model via IMX. Basically, export IMX from the initial model with the necessary content, open a new model, import IMX. Please let us know if this doesn't resolve your issue.

@ramesh.sridharan,

This is not the easiest of methods and brings in other data than the required component road.

Using a bounding box to select an area, then export/import an IMX is very clucky and quite frankly a bit poor.

We can copy and paste other object between proposals, why not roads?

@TrevN I agree with copying things between proposals. That is something team is investigating. I was under the impression this thread is about copying things between models.
