Infraworks model to Navisworks

Infraworks model to Navisworks

Hello everybody,

I think that it would be extremely beneficial for everyone, since we keep improving roads and infrastructure, if we can have a direct link to Navisworks and the possibility to link a Time Schedule to the same project or, directly in Infraworks.

It would be super great.

Thank you

Nick

You can export to FBX then import them into Navisworks. You get the materials and it looks pretty good. Would that work for you? Or were you thinking more along the lines of being able to pick an AOI and import that (similar to the way you can in Civil 3D)?

Hi Matt!

Well, basically is the same about what we discussed in the forum! How did you get the division of the files?

I cannot get it!

I agree that a new NWCOUT function in InfraWorks would make things more interesting. Also to get all feature object data over would be a great +.

Because we get more and more detailed engineering tools in InfraWorks, the scope of using the product is becoming wider, not only for preliminary design but also getting closer to detailed design.

I agree with @John_DeLeeuw! It would be great to add properties, like WBS, and take the file to Navisworks, and link it to Primavera or any other program for GANTT.

Now that Revit 2018 gives us the ability to import a Navisworks coordination model, having the ability to save Infraworks model as NWD file without using Navisworks as a file converter may be a useful feature.

Thank you.
