I agree with the point cloud region but it seems like the use case is very limited for this. This basically makes user to go through the point cloud in ReCap and manually "classify"/"move" them to different regions.
Since we added "Point Cloud Processing" tool in IW which segments point cloud (for infrastructure related applications) and provides point cloud and modeling capability for user to convert those point clouds into BIM model, we didnt approach the regions yet.

I use regions not for building topo, but for controlling what I see (or not see) in the point cloud. For instance, I typically have regions for things I may want to not see like NOISE, ROOF, EXTERIOR Walls, etc. when the point cloud has buildings. If the PC has equipment like an electrical substation, I will create a region for each switch, bus, transformer, etc. so I can isolate a specific item. Having this level of control in IW is vital. We use PC’s for more than creating topo. ☺
