From what I can see the camera opition inside model views , is linked to the model view and the model view controls it layer. I am am not aware the is a layer assignment opition for model views, if not then can we add to the layer assignment inside MT defaults. We we can turn off the cameras via filters and layers, also opition in model to change camera display on or off, but no layer assignment.

Use front clip plane and back clip place to create object view. (Like in Prosteel, "Object view center") Change view depth to control what to see in the model, instead of clipping the actual objects (but the view depth is always unlimited). The advantage is that with view clip distance, we can use multi view port in model space, and each view port is independent. "Quick view" always regen all the objects, even with multi viewport. After a new quick view is done, all the viewports are changed.

Is there a possibility to give a correct bracing connection to combi-profiles, such as double angles e.g. Now the first problem is, that only one of the two profiles is used for the plate dimension: Second problem is that one of the bolt connection is not correct aligned: Thank you!

Is it possible to add a preview to the drawing styles before it creates the sheet. This would allow you to see if this looks right before waiting on the view to be created then reviewing it. This would be similar to a plot preview in Autocad. When you print you have an option to preview the print before printing.

The function "mark main part structure" (not sure about the english function name, see the image...) should accept a weld symbol as input. So one could simply identify the elements connected by this weld instance. I may miss something, but I didn't find an option to select/mark parts of a particular weld symbol. BR, Daniel

Hello, sometimes you need to change the beam shape. It was a really nice feature if you could assign the shape by picking it from an existing one... I did not find this option so far, so I need to preselect the beams in scope, rightclick, Advance Properties, select from the list (which is of terrible usability in my eyes - no search-by-name function, nested menuitems with popups where it's just too easy to loose focus, rigid structures, that's late 90's....) Switching from "normal" beam to a combo-profile seems not to be possibe too.

one reason to isolate parts is to have a closer look at them. But it is not possible to see their feature. No chance to take care of double features or punch marks... An option to show the features of isolated parts is needed. Christian Blei

Es wäre sehr hilfreich wenn man bei den Suchabfragen im Projektexplorer Schaltflächen zum beeinflussen der Darstellung der gewählten Teile hätte. So könnte man entsprechend der Einstellung per Schaltfläche aus mehreren Kriterien der Suchabfragen die Teile wie folgt darstellen: 1) Die Summe aller gewählten Teile / Suchabfragen darstellen (jetzige Funktionsweise). 2) Die Schnittmenge von Teilen / Suchabfragen darstellen (extrem wichtig). 3) Die Differenz aus Teilmengen / Suchabfragen darstellen. Gerade für Stichpunkt 2) ergäbe sich eine erhebliche Vereinfachung durch eine Reduzierung von mehreren Schritten der Ansichts- und Darstellungseigenschaften. It would be very helpful if one had in the search queries in the project explorer buttons to influence the representation of the selected parts. Thus, according to the setting by button from several criteria of the search queries, the parts could be represented as follows: 1) Display the sum of all selected parts / search queries (current mode of operation). 2) Display the intersection of parts / search queries (extremely important). 3) Display the difference from subpages / search queries. Especially for point 2), a considerable simplification would result from a reduction of several steps of the viewing and presentation properties.

Moment flange plate macro should be compatible with members other than wide flange beams. Sometimes we have to be creative with how these connection commands are used, and if we are using moment flange plates to capture a tube or angle then only a single line of bolts across is required. Currently this is not an available function.

Hi, Autodesk has started or no longer developing Advance concrete, my understanding Autodesk's proposed workflow is to use Revit Structure for highly detailed concrete elements. If that is going to the be the case, can we have the export & import of Revit concrete elements into Advance Steel completed and comprehensive, no matter the shape or type it is recognised. At the moment only the common elements are recognised, complex or customised elements are not always recognized. For example in Revit exported to Advance Steel: Concrete slabs: A standard slab without slope, imports perfectly A standard slab with a slope, using high difference value, the result is variable, especially when slabs join. A standard slab with a slope, using slope value, the result is variable, better handling when slabs joins. A standard slab, using modify sub-elements, not recognised at all. Some cases it has been necessary to show REO in the Advance Steel footings, during hold down detailing. If we have to use another products to finish the job, it should be expected that all elements, of what ever type or complexity be recognised in the all products.

Connection Vault dialogs are in consistent, can we have that looked at. The reason for this entry, can we have the dialogs simplified. When we have several plates, using projects values. Instead of having to change or enter a value for each, (8-10 times). Can we have a toggle box to say "All projections are equal", therefore only having to enter once. This is the same for Bolt group, especially when you have to changes many values manual for each group, again can we have a toggle box to Say " All Bolt group are equal"

At present, each geometry point of a member can only be attached to a single workplane. It would be beneficial to have every member able to attach to both levels and facades. If this were to be implemented it would work similarly to the idea of fixing members to grids. Workplanes could be made at both levels and grids, and all attached members could be moved with ease.

Is it possible to create a tool that will work like view base to cut views thru the advance steel model to create views vs. using the sheet set up Advance steel offers. I have used View base with Cadworx and made the views with solid and hidden lines I needed for the project using layers to control what I wanted to see. I like the model views advance steel creates, maybe some how it could be used to import into a sheet view similar to what view base does and still be able to use autocad commands to annotate the sheets. I have used other lisp routines in the past to get 3d cuts from the models. Viewbase gives a good look but could use an upgrade as well. The sheet set up with advance steel need to be user friendly if we continue to use this option. Even needs options of modify the views if need and possible layer control for the construction drawings I need to produce instead of having to try and program a view. I know you can modify the cut line on the view but sometimes the view has to be manually recreated to get the model change. Is it possible to not keep the sheets in the 3d model file manager? I don't mind to view set up that advance steel has to offer but for the work flow we produce it causes a slow learning curve. I have set up the views to run for my current company and it seems to run for the most part good, but we still have to add dims, grating hatch, etc to the sheet. One problem I had was when I created the sheets and was working in the model I had a fatal error. so i saved over the old model with the back up file. When I opened my sheets it rev up everything when it wasn't suppose too. I have had problems with dims flipping out of place as well when you do an update. Recently my model shift on the sheet for some reason and had to move it back, seem to have bugs with the sheet set up. Its it possible to improve this part.
