Use front clip plane and back clip place to create object view. (Like in Prosteel, "Object view center")
Change view depth to control what to see in the model, instead of clipping the actual objects (but the view depth is always unlimited).
The advantage is that with view clip distance, we can use multi view port in model space, and each view port is independent.
"Quick view" always regen all the objects, even with multi viewport. After a new quick view is done, all the viewports are changed.
