Bei Sonderteilen wäre es wünschenswert, dass eine Material-Vorauswahl ermöglicht wird - ähnlich wie z.B. für Träger, Belche, Gitterroste bereits anwendbar. Umsetzbar wäre dies z.B. indem die Sonderteile bei den Vorzugsgrößen im Management-Tool als eigene "Gruppe" ergänzt würden. Außerdem bereitet uns der Umstand, dass in den Advance Eigenschaften von Sonderteilen unter dem Reiter „Benennung“ nicht die Optionen zum Anhaken hinterlegt sind, welche Elemente bei der Positionierung verglichen werden sollen - wie z.B. bei Trägern - immer wieder Probleme. Get an AI chat bot into the software that can use our human words expressing what we want to change our detail styles to look like. Have each installation communicate with each other to share experience model. Eventually the bot would learn what we want to see our details look like and I would be much happier. The AI can also have access to my anchor database and correct all the Hilti to be up to date. I could ask it to size bar grate based on the span and load requirement. If it didn't have the data req'd. to make the decision it would go out and find it and calculate.   I basically want an AI chatbot built into AS that I can literally tell what to do. Currently, you can "Copy" an existing prefix config. between profiles and the copy will also be under “Any object type” if the original one was. However, if adding a "New" prefix configuration, the “Object type” drop-down list does not contain “Any object type”. This just seems like an accidental omission that needs to be corrected.   ...so the request is that it would be useful to see “Any object type” in the “Object type” drop-down list when adding a NEW prefix configuration.   BTW, you can currently work around this by manually editing the AstorAddIn>NumberingPrefix table and setting object type to “0" for it to appear and work for “Any object type”. ...but it should really be a simple case of having the option in the dialog box! when modifying parts and assemblies already issued for construction is critical to know if the part and/or assembly are 1 of N in the job and so will be needing a new part/assembly number as it no longer matches its brethren or if it is already a unique item and so can continue with the same numbers. Currently the easiest way to ascertain this is to open the part and assembly drawings for the member. Would be so much easier if the part and assembly quantity were shown in the rollover tip or quick properties like the part and assembly numbers are. Show More

When you place a bolt the grip is measured and the bolt length selected based on length rules in the database.   However, if you place a bolt where the grip length is outside the range defined in any length rules the system does not warn you of this. For example, if you place an XOX bolt on a pair of 3mm plates the grip is 6mm. If you select an 8.8 grade Standard assembly M20 bolt it looks fine and a 40 long bolt is selected. However, the grip is only 6mm and the minimum grip defined for the shortest bolt (40 long) is 12mm. See the image below.     It is not actually possible to create this in real life. The M20 bolt has something like a 20mm plain shank on it so any grip less than around 19 will need lots of washers to work and that is not acceptable either.   Whenever a grip length is calculated that is not covered by the length rules in the system the system should warn you that the grip length is invalid by showing the oversize bolt head that is shown when the selected bolt length does not exist.   It would also be even better if these bolts were listed in the Model Check and / or Advance Steel technical Check functions too.   Thanks, Aleck. Please stop shear plates from losing their 'naming' single part pre-fix when they are moved using the "change side" option in "Plate Layout". Please stop them from switching from their creation layer to whatever the current layer is during the same process. Show More

It would be nice if Advance Steel can associate MP with an alpha character or even numbers during the Numbering - identical part detection and then have the alpha characters and numbers go in sequence thereafter, when BOM's are generated.  Also, to have the capability to reverse the MP and SP.  I have attached an Illustration for an example to see. Per this article, the Assembly Group post-numbering method states that it will re-number single parts like this: 'pa-B100' with 'pa' being the single part mark followed by the main part mark or assembly number as '-B100.'  Looking for the ability to have the main part mark first.    Example: B100-pa   Another example would be if the assembly is 'A', let the single part mark be 'a' for a final designation of Aa. The standard definition (for identical material, coating,...) in Advance Steel for the order of automatic (non-manual) numbering for the sections is: 1. alphabetically sort ProfileClass / TypeName to settings that the user cannot change (eg profile order, ...) 2. descending order by number of objects   This standard order method does not respect: the dimensions of the object and their other properties - this is much more important for the users.   We need to set different levels for numbering order and order direction (ascending / descending) => the best way is to use the similar sorting method as in MS Excel     We need full user control over it, how to order according to: - ProfileShapeRunName    - TypeName   - StandardName   - PlateThickness   - material - coating   - additional informations   Autodesk wants to hear specific suggestions, so here they are.
