Hello  The core principal of the idea is that Check-In must never fail. Enforcement moves after Check-In. Vault currently violates a foundational rule of transactional systems,  It attempts to judge validity before it records existence. By design, Vault should not decide whether engineering work exists. Its first responsibility is to capture reality, not to approve it.   Check in must be an unconditional, atomic transaction that always creates a version. Lifecycle rules, permissions, references, and automations must not block data capture. Restrictions belong to promotion and release, not to version creation. Vault should flag invalid versions instead of rejecting them: lifecycle non-compliant broken references failed jobs Jobs may fail. Files must not.   Autodesk positions Vault as a single source of truth, yet today it behaves like a gatekeeper. A source of truth records first, judgment comes later. Hello.   It would be great to have a possibility to revert the current locally editted file to last version in Vault, while file is checked-out. Currently both of the options are greyed-out, but if you do an "undo check-out", they become available.       Best regards, Rene Repina Show More

The "Print Change Order Summary" has no ability to change the format/layout. it would be very helpful to be able control the order in which the properties are displayed and printed.  The ability to export this format would be great also. Thank You for your consideration. Show More

Hello.   If you could please add a way to edit File Names & File Properties at the same time, it would be a huge efficiency gain and help with preservation of information. This would also help with encouraging file migration for users switching from a Windows Explorer environment to Vault or from migration of alternate competitor programs.   I think this could be achieved in  2 ways: 1) Allow changing of file name in "Property Edits". The area for editing the file name is currently greyed out and locked.     2)    a: Allow rename, copy, and paste in the Rename Wizard.        b: Allow descriptions/fields to be COPIED and then pasted into the file name rename space. I believe this would be the least             effective, but easiest way to allow copying of data between columns to the file name.   Let me know if you have any questions or other considerations. On the home screen in Inventor you can have a list of files you recently opened. I would like to suggest the option when the vault add in is installed and logged in this Recent changes to Recent Check In or Check Out, by current user of course, (both or either) and when opening the file it would open the file from vault. The current LowPriority mode, defined in web.config on ADMS servers, needs more flexibility. (Autodesk docu)   At the moment it is only possible to define a start and end time for every day. It would be nice to define times for each day separately. For example on the weekend it needs no low priority, servers can run with full power.   In our case we have only one DB, subribers are AVFS servers and its a global system, so we have only a slot for 3 hours daily to run not with low priority and on the weekend sometimes we do changes which should be done then with full power.   Thank you Show More

Please allow the ability to set defined users able to run the Job Processor utility so just any account with Vault access can't run it. We've ran into an issue twice now where a random user has launched the Vault Job Processor on their machine (on accident and unknowingly) and it is picking up jobs without the correct permissions and configuration. It would be nice to have the option to limit the Job Processor role to a specific user(s) to prevent a job being processed on the wrong machine/setup. Thanks! Show More

Duplicate the entire folder—including all subfolders, the top-level assembly, subassemblies, parts, and drawings—preserving all links, while excluding any files referenced by the assemblies that are stored outside the folder. basically, copying top-level assembly to another folder with linking out of the folder parts (like content center). It would be helpful if the "Find" functionality could automatically use the current folder when it launches from the quick search menu. (see attached screenshot 1)   By default, it will use the Vault root folder. (see attached screenshot 2)   Ideally, I think it would be helpful if the "Look in:" folder field automatically used the current folder path loaded rather than having to browse to the desired folder path each time. Currently in Vault Connector 2026.2 we can identify which Attachments/Links of an Item shall be forwarded to Fusion Manage when synchronizing a Vault Item. This setting is great and helps a lot of Customers to tailor the transfer to their needs. Current Situation that causes an Issue: When an Item has multiple attachements with the same exact file name the Connector transfer an Item to Fusion Manage. After the Item is transferred it throws an Error 500 and talks about duplication of ids (file names in this case) . Which strategy could help the Connector in such a case: If a Administrator can set a switch to only transfer the latest or tip version of a duplicate file to Fusion Manage it would prevent the method from running into a an error. It couls still throw a warning as the Vault Administrator may need to go ahead and clean the Items from having multiple of the same file names attached or linked to one Item (in all cases the files have different version numbers!!) That would prevent the transfer from receiving any "Hard Errors" during transfer and still providing useful information for the Vault Administrator to further clean the Vault from such issues. This would not re-submit or remove a selection, but during the task‑by‑task verification it would make it easier to choose whether to delete or resubmit depending on the case. Thanks. Would it be possible to make the icon for both disabled users and groups as ghosted out in the User and Group Management?   It would make it far easier for a Vault user to visually differentiate between enabled and disabled users and groups. This would be very handy when you have a large number users in the database of and don't have to open the properties of each item to see if it is disabled or not.   See attached for illustration. Dear support, Our Vault is very big and more then 10 years old. A lot of things has happened is these years and a lot of properties are changed and/or being disabled. Lots of these properties are "Disabled" in the Vault>Behaviours>Properties>property definitions, But the associations is still on "File", because I can not remove this. (Even when the Usage Counts = 0) But when I go to Inventor and go to the Vault tree on the side view, and I choose "Choose properties", I still see the OLD disabled properties and it confuse my colleague's.  Is there a way, or can you make it, so I can HIDE those properties, and also maybe delete those properties, so it will have a clean look.   n.b. Also like the User and Group management, I can "Show enabled files Only" Show More

when editing the quantity of the item in the bill of material section of item master, you input a numerical value, but as soon as you have finished editing this and move on, the field becomes alpha-numeric, as the word 'each' gets added to the end of the value. this is terrible from an export point of view as there is already a field for the 'units' that we can automatically put next to the quantity field, so that it reads well, but when it comes to export, I can end up with '4 each' 'millilitre' as the columns sit next to each other, this is going to require post-processing in excel or something in order to make that work for import into and ERP/MRP system. it seems very messy to have something editable as a numerical value, and then to have the software take that away from me and convert it into something i don't want and can no longer use. I've got customers who are being put off adopting the Item Master because of the small bumps that can be easily fixed, and this is a prime example of that.     Show More

current plan is to implement an "automatic shutdown" when detecting a debugger in vault application using function. Autodesk Vault does not provide such functionality to close application when detects debugger.  this to Ensure that the application is able to determine if a debugger is attached to the application's process and close the application if one is detected.  If a debugger can be attached, an attacker may be able to bypass security controls. As a result, they may be able to gain unauthorized access to application functionality and data. Show More

Hello, We use several numbering schemes, and when we make a design copy, only one default scheme is applied to the newly created numbers. Hello, Automatic flat pattern exports of sheet metal parts to DXF in Vault are a very interesting feature. I would like to add a criterion in their configuration options to select the model state to be used during this export. This criterion would allow choosing the default model state that should be activated for the export; if it is inaccessible, then the "Master" state would be selected instead. This would make it possible to handle, for example, cut and machined parts requiring an allowance for material removal, which may have a model state such as "As-cut part," or cases where the cutting contour is managed within a specific model state. I would like to be able to configure Thin Client differently between replicated sites.   We use a Vault in full replication across multiple sites, and it would be great as an administrator to be able to choose whether the basic settings are different or identical between Subscriber sites.   For example, if a user connects to a subscriber's Thin Client, they will only see the released versions, whereas if they connect to another subscriber, they will see all versions of the files.   https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/vault-forum/different-thin-client-settings-for-each-replicated-site/m-p/13883854#M52032 Show More
