Autocad 3d solids brought into Advance Steel as "Special Parts" do not print properly. We need Advance Steel to remove the tessellation lines?

Hello, If i create a stair with a connection "stair anchor base plate" it could be that the second bolt of the Tread will be in a other beam than the stringer (see attachement). If this is the situation the nc dstv file will give an error, because a hole is outside the stringer. It would be nice to have an option to ignore the second bolt before create the nc file, without having to delete a connection or macro. regards

I would like to see the system line or Median line that Advance steel draws with to have the ability to be on a different layer so it can be frozen. We have other disciples like Mechanical and Electrical that want to view our models in there drawing set up. They are not able to freeze these lines without freezing the whole beam or channel. We have to delete the Advance Steel Smart info to even get it to be usable for the other Disciples. It would help if Advance steel was a little user friendly on some of the layers so they can be frozen in the views that the other disciples use for there drawing set up since they are still using autocad. I have seen software in the past (prosteel) that made this possible and didn't have to make a special model for the other disciples. This would help to save time. Can this be added.

Hello, Very often we need to modify external lists after we export them as pdf files. It will be very helpful if we can modify them straight from BOM Editor prior to exporting. This will save time going to the BOM folder, file and modify using a pdf software. Regards, Ilko Dimitrov

There are so many issue with WELD TEMPLATE of advance steel. 1)Any modification in weld template not reflect in drawing(not in new or old created d rawing) 2)we are very sad with welding symbol 3)we don't know why our any modification did not reflect in drawing .we are trying from one year.

Many dimensions placed on drawings are to centerlines. It would be good if we had a command that would place parametric centerlines between two straight edges. Then we could use these centerlines for parametric dimensioning. If the edges are moved, the centerlines would move too and the dimensions would remain correct.

hi When we exported AS Layout to AutoCAD, Are all annotations and modeling explode. I wish preserve their structure after export( as like autodesk revit). Attached below 2 file. a export to AS to CAD and a export RST to CAD.

Hello, There is no connection template in advance steel where a joist Seats on a wall and we wants a Embed plate below The joist seat with anchor,stud,welded anchor as followed in US standard Regards Veermani Singh (INDIA)

Hi, Many a time after generating the drawing, the labels get cluttered and we need to move and space them out for proper presentation. It hapens that sometime due to a human error we jumble up and end up placing incorrect label on a beam. An alerts/warning will be really handy when such a thing happens.

Hello, when I insert a Camera in the model, I can deliver one view that it shows the view about the direction of the Camera. A nice feature should be to manage the Camera by drawing styles. In this way, I put the camera on the model and it show me its frontal view, but by a drawing style I could manage the other projections. It will be also nice that I can manage the isometrics views about this. With this enhacements we'll fix the allignement of several view of the same camera in the drawing. Thanks regards.

Hi, the marking that Advance Steel makes and how it is shown in the drawings to define the orientation of parts for the setup on site is obviously not meeting the needs of the various local markets. Strategies are different in th US, Australia and in Europe. The process styles should get adjusted to meet these demands. To minimize scribing a common practice is that the location of a part mark on the part is defining its orientation, althought there are different ways to do that. The process styles should get improved to show where to mark a part. BR, Christian Blei

Hello, Very often we need to select SP angles only (both with equal legs or unequal), SP HSS Pipe, SP W, SP C, SP MC, SP Plate, SP Bent plate, SP bar, SP SQ, SP Flat, SP Round... The filtering as available now slows the work flow. We need this in order to make the detailing packages more organized, different shapes to be grouped in a smaller packages in order. It will be very helpful if we have pre-defined filters ready from a pull-down menu. I hope this can be done in Advance. Regards, Ilko Dimitrov

I'd like a command to section AS objects in the model based on UCS planes. As an extension, I'd like the option to keep generating sections based on the current settings (say xy plane for example) by simply selecting subsequent points. Similar to the autocad section command for ACIS solids... Thanks for considering.

Please note the graphic icons Like Inventor or Revit and ... . Is boring graphic icons in the AS.(Currently is Very small and indistinct)

Hi, Advance steel selection is type dependend. If you have a mix of types in your selection, you do not have access to Advance Steel properties. Advance Steel should use the first part selected as a type filter. If you select a straight beam first and then other objects, you should have access to the properties of all straight beams in the selection and this way be able to edit them with one command. br, Christian Blei
