enhancement AS export to DWG

When we exported AS Layout to AutoCAD, Are all annotations and modeling explode.

I wish preserve their structure after export( as like autodesk revit).

Attached below 2 file. a export to AS to CAD and a export RST to CAD.

hi,

now if we explode a drawing all the objects are loose entities, for example the dimension line from Advance are all loose parts line and text.

Is it possible to convert the Advance dimension to a normal Autocad Dimension line?

The same for beams, plates, etc etc, can't these objects be converted to polylines, solids or blocks?

We may take it in consideration for our future roadmap.

What do you think about removing the need to explode drawings at all - having an Advance Steel drawing showing up in pure AutoCAD and being able to pick the elements?

hi Udo,

we still need to explode the drawings for multiple use, most for export to others participants on a project.

If the drawing can be an AS one and be opened with plain Autocad or other programs without having to install plug ins or object enablers it is handy. Most of the exploded drawings that i produce are for use in Total Station(Trimble equipment) and for contractors wo want to use our drawings as a base for further project development.

oh, and if at least the dimensions could be still autocad objects with autocad intelligence and able to stretch instead of being loose elements and text.

The Graitec PowerPack for Advance Steel was updated on 11 November 2015. This new build includes new tools to Explode Details or Explode Drawings. These tools are specifically developed so that the dimensions in the exploded drawings are AUTOCAD DIMENSIONS! Yeah

Hi,

I also have the same Problem, my clients who only have to look at some parts use only Autocad Trueviewer. It would be very easy for me if can create a DWG on Advance steel which can be easily opened in all Autodesk Products without exploding them. Just send the unexploded dwg layout so that they can measure on it like i measure on advance steel.
