Ignore holes outside objects creating NC file

Ignore holes outside objects creating NC file

Hello,

If i create a stair with a connection "stair anchor base plate" it could be that the second bolt of the Tread will be in a other beam than the stringer (see attachement). If this is the situation the nc dstv file will give an error, because a hole is outside the stringer.
It would be nice to have an option to ignore the second bolt before create the nc file, without having to delete a connection or macro.

Hello. The current functionality of Advance Steel NC generation is to flag this type of holes as not being correct, a flag that is marked through two ** signs inside the NC file which will tell the machine that that the holes can't be produced. This standard behavior is found also for holes that are on the edge, or close to the edge (inside the minimum edge distance value). Are other side-effects of those holes outside the object face that can affect the machine interpretation of the file ?

Hai dumitru,

I posted this idea under the wrong user. so thats why you see now that Matrix-software is responding.

and not h.heuver

You are right that advancesteel behaves as a hole on a edge or to close on the edge. So the only side effect is that machine can not create this nc.

Only if advancesteel could split the bolts into two sepperate bolt, so 1 bolt is placed into the stringer and the other is placed into the vertical beam (see picture attached) Then the nc does not have the problem anymore on the stringer and also the hole will be drilled into the vertical beam (and that is now not the case)

So i do think the problem has to be solved in the macro of the stair/connection. And not so in the nc generation.

In the past when this has happened, after investigating the error, I will go and delete out the offending hole from the NC file if it is outside the object face. For holes to close to the edge, if I know that is where it needs to be, I will remove the "**" from the line in the NC file. It is not a big problem to do this.

Holes outside the face should be ignored automatically, but the holes to close to the edge should remain and be flagged so the user can investigate.

thanks

Hi,
Due to errors in NC processing the file extension is the ERR and consequently you have problem when you create also WISCON NC.

Then when you want to remove the err file extension, you have rename the nc file of the part in the folder NC and also in the folder WISCON for each assembly and you have also to edit XML files of each assembly.

So my my idea is add option "don't add ERR extension", if it is not possible to create the NC files correctly,
Robert
