Hi I'd love if the loadable tags will have an option to adjust the width of the text once loaded into the project. It's very hard to make the width of the text perfect for all text lengths... Revit team... stop focusing on adding more stuff. Stop focusing on changing where cloud models go for the 10th time.   You all need to focus on optimization. This program is 25+ years old now. Buildings are large. And Revit can't keep up. You will be outpaced by another program, which honestly, I hope happens.   Seems to me Revit is only optimized for a typical residential home. But our discipline focuses on large multistory complexes, high rises, master plans, etc. And this program has taken the fun out of our discipline by not keeping up.   Remember using autocad? Remember how fast we could whip something up? Well that has never been the case with Revit. Ever since I started in this industry, every project NO MATTER HOW ORGANIZED YOUR MODEL IS AND NO MATTER HOW BEEFY YOUR COMPUTER IS, Revit will be sluggish. And I'm not just some idiot that doesn't know the ins and outs of Revit. This happens every time, no matter how well I organize our sets/bldgs.   As an example, here is the usual process that happens... Click object. wait. make action. wait. hide object. wait. click template. wait. apply template. wait. click group. wait. edit group. wait. finish group. wait.    Please do better. I am working on a large floor plan that the custom wanted broken into "neighborhoods" which are varying shapes and sizes.  Creating the 15 or 16 custom Crop Regions for each floor was no big deal.    Then I had to create an Emergency Management model, and the evacuation maps also required the same neighborhoods.  I had no problem copying the crop region from one model to another, but it was rather tedious and time consuming.  Being able to save them and apply them, sort of like Scope Boxes and share them across models would be hugely helpful. In the family editor it's possible to create material parameters, leave their value as "<By Category>" and then paint that parameter onto surfaces. That's great, as it allows users to control the material of those surfaces in project.    But then if I want to remove that material parameter from the surface it's not possible. That's insane. If it can be painted on, then it needs to be able to be removed as well.    Currently the only way to remove it is create a material in the family editor, assign that material to the material parameter, and then the remove paint tool works. Once the painted parameter has been removed from the surface, the material can then be deleted, and the material asset purged out of the family.    This workflow of creating a dummy material and then having to remove it is incredibly frustrating and in my mind the inability to remove a painted material parameter unless a material is assigned is a bug.  Show More

In visibility graphics in most tabs, you can turn off showing that that tab with one check box. But its not possible with Revit links. When I created a federate model view in Model Coordination on ACC, all models should have a clean view with no link. But this is extremely difficult to maintain if you have more than a dozen models. It would be much easier to have the ability to uncheck that box and hide all Revit links rather manually updating it when a new link is added. Show More

Please make the property line feature with the option to choose north or south azimuth. In Hawaii, its south azimuth and I can't get Revit tags to show south degrees (degrees above 180, not the revit option that currently has degrees from N/S), would be so helpful creating site plans Show More

Sorry for the long idea subject, but I found the current (ok, ok, R2024.2) behaviour a bit weird: When you split a wall that allows no joins on either end, the split will have allowed joins on both edges. The idea would be to change that to reproduce the settings of the wall that is split. Show More

STOP!!! renaming elements in the Project Browser when copy-paste an element from one project file to another. It makes a mess in the project browser and leads to a lot of unnecessary work to find and replace elements in families and clean up the duplicates. Rivet's built-in instructions of using select-all-in-project and then replacing with a different element does not work. That is a separate issue that I've posted about that needs to be fixed. Furthermore, sometimes the Family Name will be renamed, but not the Family Type. So, when you go into the family, such as railing, where the element is used, you cannot tell which Family the Type is being used. SOOOOO INFURIATING!!! Instead of renaming the element, give options to use existing, use new, or rename new. This is just more archaic Revit behavior that causes much unnecessary frustration.  Show More

Allow Export to PDF to embed fonts in PDFs.  This will allow maximum flexibility for users to choose the appropriate font for their situation.  Currently, Export to PDF only uses system fonts and severely limits the ability to graphically customize PDF visuals. Show More

Cut and Paste is primordial basis of GUIs. Why make us go to the ribbon or type shortcuts when it could be done with a right and then left click? I wouldn't write it unless I thought I had to but yes...paste = paste in same place. Show More

Curtain wall grid lines are always invisible until you mouse over them.   In complicated curtain walls, it can be very difficult to get the right grid and to understand the grid layout - as you can't see it!   Make the grid a sub category in Visibility Graphics so the user can turn them on and set their colour.   This would aid creating a complicated curtain wall a lot. It would be very helpful if you could pre-set a mitre finish on a sweep so one would not have to go around the building clicking each end condition. This would be doubly helpful if when adding a secondary trim that it then follows the base sweep too.. Show More

Add a parameter to the legend component to allow us to control the width and height of a curtain panel element. This is important for creating door type legends. Many workarounds have been suggested over the decades but it's time for a solution.       Show More

At the moment there is just a category denominated 'Floor' and on every project, we have both architectural floors for floor finishes and structural floors for the deck/concrete part of the structure. Sometimes, it is useful to turn off only the architectural or structural parts. Could this generic category 'Floor' be split into Architectural Floors and Structural Floors for better management of the elements? Or just create a new one for Structural Floors like Structural Columns or structural Framing...   Thank you Show More

The Schedule Appearance and Template properties to control graphics are a complete mess. There are conflicting graphic controls in Properties > Appearance vs Titles & Headers. Furthermore, some of these properties, such as Header Borders and Text alignment cannot be controlled in a template. And when a template is applied, the options to control them in the ribbon are not available. Some graphic properties can be controlled with a template, some not. It's an excessive and painstaking amount of work when making a new schedule to apply a template to get some graphic properties, and then remove the template and manually adjust other graphic properties. I'm not going to take the time to outline in detail all of the problems that and conflicts that exist, as that would take up far too much time and space. This is yet another area of Revit that has been neglected for decades and needs to be reviewed and revised. I find it appalling that this type of disfunction continues to exist and gets overlooked release after release, while Autodesk rolls new features and brags about increased productivity, and quietly revises features that actually did work just fine and makes a mess out them.  Show More
