Please bring back Autocreated Analytical Model for 2023+ Revits. Although the old algorithm required some time to learn, it worked significantly better than the current automated tool. The new tool was supposed to make our lives easier, but it only complicates things. The number of errors and incorrectly generated elements is alarming. Ultimately, manually correcting these errors consumes a tremendous amount of time. Please restore the option to choose between the old and new approach. By removing the old tool you have destroyed workflow that have been functioning efficiently for years. Show More

If you have two analytical panels that have a common edge (there is no gap between them), and if you move one panel trying to create a gap between them, the moved panel drags the other panel and lengthens its dimension. This behavior is the same for analytical members also. This behavior is not friendly if you try to copy an element right next to the other, then move one of them to create a gap between them.    We should have an option to choose if we want to drag the other connected analytical element if one of them is moved!    Show More

Adding the ability to select "Number of Phases" in the Properties Palette for the Electrical Design Analysis Tool for Revit '23 and newer.   While trying to use the Electrical Design Analytical tool within Revit '23, when entering our electrical loads for calculations they are all locked/greyed out on 3 phase power in the Properties Palette with no option that I see how to change between a 3 phase or a single phase power source.   Ex. If you enter a 120 Volt load it is always locked at 3 phase causing the calculations to be wrong, instead it would need be 120 V single phase load. Show More

We constantly encounter space bounding issues and bugs within space colour fill legends, which are hidden within a process that's supposed to be simple and efficient.   This is that much of a problem for us that it has put our engineers off spaces completely and they have reverted back to hatching around areas like you'd do in CAD when producing zoning drawings, not good!   It would be better if the Revit code could reference the Architectural room geometry more closely, which works fine within the linked Architectural model.   When a space colour fill legend is applied, sometimes the colour disappears from certain spaces for no obvious reason and often the fix is to click the link, untick room bounding then switch it back on again afterwards i.e. a bug in the software.   We are an MEP company and have these issues with all of the Architect's we work with, so I don't think this can simply be put down to 'user error' when the results are consistent.   I appreciate this is a complicated issue but I think it needs to be addressed.         Show More

Hi Everyone,   The idea is when transferring model only from Robot to Revit , we should maybe have an option that prevents loads from being transferred. Please add "Room Bounding" as an option we can use to create filters with and use in schedules for all elements that have the option.   This is an important QA/QC tool.  When generating an energy model room bounding elements are used to generate analytical spaces and surfaces.  I would like to quickly generate a view that shows me all those bounding elements so I can confirm and troubleshoot what information my energy model is being generated from.   We also use a separate thin floor to model finish floors it is important that these floors are NOT room bounding, otherwise it creates problems for our MEP partners.  Being able to schedule these floors and ensure that they are all not room bounding would allow us to efficiently continually review the settings as new finish floor types are added. Hi!  I have found that steel profile (structural framing) volume/mass differs from table data.  This is because Revit calculates volume only by medium detail level of cross section. For example, if it is closed section like rectangular hollow section (RHS), then in medium detail level cross section is box without radii - volume is apox. 5-7% bigger.  If it is open beam section (H, I or U), then in medium detail level cross section is like welded plates without radii - volume is apox. 5-7% smaller. In small projects mass difference of 5-7% is not significant, but in big project Customer offen checks total mass by table data from internet/book. For example 7% from 500 000kg is 35 000kg! Taking volume from Schedule Material takeoff is not a good idea i think, if we need to do Structural Framing Schedule with steel beam dimensions, count and mass. In short - please let us do volume/mass count by FINE detail level cross section. Show More

Duct connectors in Revit Families only include Supply, Return, and Exhaust air.  There should be options for either "Makeup-Air" or "Outside-Air" as a System Classification for ducts.    HVAC systems and equipment often pull air from the outside of a building, and this type of air system is shouldn't be stuck using "other"; having a specific System Classification for Outside Air would help clarify the connections' intended use for end-users.   Show More

In order to ensure a complete task of creating the analytical model in REVIT 2024 and to reduce errors with loads that follow the local axes (problem of changing the direction of the local axes of the analytical panels while transefering model from REVIT to ROBOT), it is proposed to have the possibility of adjusting the local axes of the analytical panels in REVIT. It would be nice to have the option when using the Analytical Automation from either Physical to Analytical or Analytical to Physical to be able to choose top of steel for beams. Because to nearest level does not always work as well as can be seen from the screenshot. If we don't choose to nearest level the analytical lines goes through the centroid, but then you have the problem where different size beams centroids causes offsets.    Show More

Currently Revit analytical panels do not have the option to set a one-way span, or direction of a one-way span. By default, it seems that all panel elements are 2-way spans without the option to determine a single span directions:    For comprehensive analytical modeling, this is vital, as the situations of multiple beams bordering a floor, but only some attracting load, is common place in structural design.  This is vital to allow Revit to set-up accurate analytical models before sending them to Robot. A basic structural analysis program feature is the display of members' end releases based on the condition type, fixed, pinned, etc.   Looking at the member below, what releases, if any, does it have?   Currently, needing to read a text property for each individual member is time-consuming and slow.   A graphical representation must be easily toggled on/off to check what end release types are defined for all members in 3D or 2D views to quickly allow checking if the modeling has been done correctly. Allow the quick selection of which work plane to draw an analytical member on, instead of having to go through the current work plane settings options.   Especially since the "Work Plane" ribbon section disappears when placing analytical members.         Show More

Add the ability to assign colours to analytical line load family type properties. Currently colours of individual line loads can changed with "view specific element graphics" override. But this does not allow for consistency across views, or to easily apply colours to multiple loads of the same family type in a project.   Show More

Only a minor adjustment, but I find when using the measuring tool it is difficult to see what the measurement actually reads, and when you try to zoom in, the text size stays the same on the screen. It would be great if the text size were to get bigger here along with everything else in the view.  Show More

Say you're working in plan view and need to quickly check the changes you made in a 3D view that you have already saved but don't want to open it completely.... enter the quick view panel via the project browser tree. Hi, there is a new exchange format on the horizon. It's called "Structural Analysis Format" (SAF). It has similarities to IFC (SAV) is however written in table format. So you can open, read and modify it with Excel.    I'm pretty sure your developers are aware of that format. Please see a list of items that I think need to be addressed in Revit regarding structural analytical model. They are listed in order of importance that affects our company...... Allow Revit’s modify tools to adjust the analytical model Make sure this doesn’t cause connected nodes to move Make sure this doesn’t cause connected nodes to move Make sure this doesn’t cause connected nodes to move Trim/Extend single element Trim/Extend multiple elements Trim/Extend to corner Mirror Pick Axis Mirror Draw axis Offset Provide an option to unconnect nodes that are currently connected based on graphical selection Provide an option to add nodes to any analytical member along its length….. Currently a user cannot add nodes to an analytical model, and in order to add rigid links between two members, nodes are required. This means I cannot add rigid links between two members at midspan or anywhere along its length if they don’t currently have nodes along its length and only have nodes at each end….. Provide an option to select a vertical analytical member and force it to be 100% vertical just like the physical column has a vertical column feature..... This would help when aligning analytical columns with beams that accidently rotate out of plum....... Provide an option for nodes to be added between intersecting members that are at different elevations or even better would be to add rigid links between crossing members that are at different elevations/levels..... The feature to add nodes at member intersections at different levels is so a user can add rigid links between members where they cross each other but are on two different levels. See below image for example.... I need the floor joist that cantilever over the blue highlighted SIL beam to be connected via rigid links...... which means I need to add nodes to each member at their intersection locations even though they are at two different elevations because the floor joist sit on top of the SIL beams and need to add rigid links between these two members at their intersecting location in the vertical direction..... Revit example RISA structural model example showing rigid link between joist and sil beams Provide users the connection rules that the analytical automation tool is using to adjust the analytical model as it creates the analytical model....... and give the user the ability to modify the connection rules depending on what members are being selected to be added to the analytical model at any given time…. Currently this tool does a horrible job of making adjustments to the analytical model correctly as it creates it and users have no way of making adjustments to the rules it is using to make adjustments except for specifying a distance and selecting member adjustment priorities……. Example…. I may have two floor joist that are close together and are parallel to each other, but their ends may be further away from the a perpendicular beam that their supposed to be connected too..... And if their end nodes are closer to each other than the perpendicular beam that they need to be connected to the software moves them together and sometimes doesn’t even connect them to the perpendicular beam as shown below. So I would want to specify that the automation tool only allows members to be lengthened or shortened to create a connected node and not adjust the members laterally at all when ever i select the floor joist to be added to the analytical model......   I would love to receive beta versions of these updates as they are made to test them out.   I need these updates/improvements as soon as possible and I listed them in order based on importance and what items I thought were more critical to improving our structural workflow, time, and effort. I am currently loosing money on every structural job that I have started with Revit 2023. I have lost a few thousand dollars and had to consistently call clients and push back deadlines already this year (and we are only in February) because of the amount of time I have had to spend dealing with these issues I have presented above and need these issues fixed asap.   I would also like to be on contact with the actual software engineer that is making these changes so we can maintain constant communication while these improvements are being made.   Thanks Show More
