Dear Moldflow Product development team, @raalte The usage of annular rectangular cross-section hot runners, such as the FDU hot runner (FDU | Products | Hot runner nozzles), is increasing rapidly. Modeling them as 1D annular rectangular beams is not a direct option in Moldflow Synergy 2025. An alternative option is to use a 3D Tetra mesh with a hot gate 3D valve gate system. Since the 2024 release, it is possible to obtain a histogram of the results. However, it is not possible to obtain a histogram following a thickness analysis via a macro. Hello Developer team, Recently we came across an error: Error :301150 with Autodesk support and we realized (Based on Autodesk support team) that  The investigation has exposed an issue in the code: The incident is triggered for large 3D models running large deflection with mesh aggregation disabled and upgrade tetras set to either automatic or all. While the model size and type of geometry (ratio of thicker vs thin layer areas) is the driving factor, we cannot estimate beforehand if the incident will occur or not. Until a solution is released, the recommended solution for this type of models is run large deflection with mesh aggregation enabled. The provided ****ysis had gaps in the node numbering. It is important to make sure the node labels had been squeezed before running any ****ysis --> this we already tried. With this scenario there was a thought (Knowing it's very much tricky but may doable), Can we have a hybrid mesh (DD+3D) where we can have 3D in complex area where Midesh is not suitable so we have to go with 3D and other area we can keep DD (Thin area / uniform thickness area) to keep element count in control? I would like to suggest a simple but necessary option as below:   I would like to request the option of not modifying the Surface mesh node when creating a 3D mesh.   I know that there is a need to modify the more optimized surface mesh when creating a 3D mesh. However, we hope to help customers decide to modify the Surface mesh as needed.   This option is mainly needed when creating a surface mesh using hypermesh or simlab, and when there is an assembly shape such as a mold insert or part insert.   When creating a 3D mesh in the Moldflow environment, a problem occurs in which the nodes of the part mesh, part insert mesh, and mold surface mesh are not accurately connected. Like auto sizing in model meshing, there may be an auto sizing option for curve meshing. Software automatically makes it for some curves above a length limit. But for short curves, we have to enter appropriate length value to get required beam count after meshing. Another option that we can use is meshing whole lines at one step , later using remesh area to increase beam count in gates etc., but this brings an extra work. Especially while meshing gate curves, and hot runners we need to manually mesh lines step by step to get required number of beams. For example gates with 6 beams are better and there should be min. 3 beams in different levels of hot runner nozzle. Automatic resizing of curves may help to model feed system quicker. Show More

So far, 3rd party software is used to generate a midplane mesh. In future we expect Moldflow to successfully generate midplane mesh, to ease the process, it should be at least included in Moldflow Insight Premium or Ultimate version as a special feature. Show More

Moldflow has been so far so good in determining gate locations for the part. But we come across many customers who will primarily ask, whether it will also suggest what type of gate should be used? We tell no, and that might be a drawback as of now, but if it does suggest, that would be great. Show More

As Bi-injection only supports for Midplane meshes. Due to complex geometry which is not suitable for midplane model, it is necessary to do model in 3D mesh. Currently 3D mesh is not supported by bi-injection molding and Multi-barrel technology (which supports 3D mesh) didn't support for multiple materials.  Show More

when  a hot runner is added from a another model, it might happen that a) the old trigger nodes are in the new model,but are not connected and the valve gate is referring to the old nodes. b) or the valve gate is referenced to the old node that doesnt exist in the new model   in case of a) the valve gate wont open in case of b) the simulation will fail   either way this can be easily checked beforehand with a simple check tool or pointed out in the mesh statistics Show More
