Objective: The Take and Jump Character Performance Portfolio is a platform for students to showcase their skills in basic 2D character animation. In this portfolio, students apply and demonstrate their understanding of fundamental principles and techniques used in 2D animation, such as character movement, facial expressions and body language. To create a successful portfolio, students must be able to bring their characters to life, making them look and feel believable and engaging. This requires a solid understanding of keyframe animation, pose-to-pose animation, and the use of in-between frames to create smooth and fluid motion. Overall, The Take and Jump Character Performance Portfolio provides students with a unique opportunity to demonstrate their ability to create dynamic and engaging 2D animation, while also demonstrating their skills in storytelling, creativity, and visual storytelling. The portfolio is an important part of their learning journey and a valuable tool for building their skills and confidence as animators. Deliverables: 'Take' Project Prep and Planning: Students are expected to prepare and plan their "Take" project, including character design, concept development, and storyboarding. 'Take' Project Key Drawings Line Tested: Students must line test their key drawings for solidity, expressive posing, and squash and stretch to ensure that their animation meets the desired quality standards. 'Take' Project Final – Anticipation and Reaction/Squash and Stretch: Students are expected to produce a final animation that includes anticipation and reaction/squash and stretch, demonstrating their understanding of these animation principles. 'Take' Project Final - Timing, Spacing, Motion Paths: Students must demonstrate a clear understanding of timing, spacing, and motion paths in their final "Take" project. Jump Project Prep and Planning: Similar to the "Take" project, students must prepare and plan their "Jump" project, including character design, concept development, and storyboarding. Jump Project Key Drawings Line Test: Students must line test their key drawings for solidity, expressive posing, and squash and stretch to ensure that their animation meets the desired quality standards. Jump Project Final – Anticipation and reaction/ Squash and stretch: Students are expected to produce a final animation that includes anticipation and reaction/squash and stretch, demonstrating their understanding of these animation principles. Jump Project Final - Timing, Spacing, Motion Paths: Students must demonstrate a clear understanding of timing, spacing, and motion paths in their final "Jump" project. your help is greatly appreciated!
