I think the new layout for the "show" menu in the viewport is more tedious than before. The fact that all the elements are now in a submenu "Viewport" makes it hard to toggle things quickly. Also, middle clicking the "show" menu to repeat last command doesn't work in that submenu (which I use a lot to toggle on and off curves when animating) Middle clicking does work in other submenus in Maya.
The new features of preset is probably useful in some circumstances but I don't see why all the presets commands are prioritized over the rest. Basically I think it would be better to bring back all the elements in the main section of the "show" menu and put the template stuff in a submenu instead.
