Recently, I had a need to place a screw into an iLogic model.
The model geometry is created by a plethora of iLogic rules and is dynamic in nature.
The area available for the screw to be introduced fluctuates in its shape and in size.
It’s very difficult to place this screw and size it (screw size and length) with no evaluation of whether it’s crashing into other geometry or not.
I would like to change the placement, size and length of the screw based on the available area and geometry.
It would be great if there was a command called “Evaluate Hardware” or “Automate Hardware Component Replace” where I could just pick the hardware family that I would like to use, add or remove certain sizes and lengths from the list, place the screw and select the geometry (faces or surfaces) that I would like to evaluate. As more area becomes available, the screw size and length would increase based on other iLogic rules.
The form could look something like this:
Thanks,
Len
