The new transfer settings function in 2019 is great ... we've been waiting for that for a while. Unfortunately, it doesn't transfer any of your iLogic settings including external rule locations etc...
It would be great if the transfer settings option in 2019 could be updated to include all iLogic settings.
Just a quick suggestion from the Kohler High School mechanical drafting class. We are currently in the process of creating a model train, and we are in the dimension sheet stage of the process. While we value are time we all thought that if there was an auto dimension feature it would not only speed up the dimension process, but it will also make our lives much easier.
Thanks,
Kohler High School Mechanical Drafting Class
I would like the ability to retrieve 3D model annotations nested in a child component as I can do with Sketch and feature dimension selecting a part.
More general approach could be the ability to promote the sub-component 3D model annotations to main assembly annotations in assembly environment.
Hey there.
Currently sitting with assembly drawings with multiple view reps. The way they're created is to mark multiple items (select part priority) -> Isolate
However, I have a few inseparable items. They disappear from the BOM filter, because only the parts within an inseparable assembly are visible, and not the assembly itself.
I would like to see a way to choose a priority where it'll choose inseparable assemblies as well as parts that aren't in an inseparable subassembly.
I'd like to see Inventors “Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities” to accommodate for 3D Sketches.
The Parts List Style options should include the ability to adjust line format just like on the rest of the table styles (general table, revision table).
For General Tables you can format the inner and outer lines separately. However, in the Parts List Style settings you do not get that control. This results in tables that are inconsistent in a drawing if you're adjusting it in other tables.
For example, maybe all your tables have a thicker outer border to separate them visually from the rest of a drawing or from other tables nearby. Or, possibly you want to adjust the inner lines to make them lighter in color than the outer ones.
While you can adjust the format of the layer a Parts List is on, that changes all lines in a table, not just the inner or outer ones.
General Table Style - line format is adjustable
Parts List Style - line format does not exist
Please update Inventor Studio enviroment.
It's the poorest module in Inventor at the moment.
It would be great to do the things that we used to do in Showcase (same things, same quality, same speed, same facility) in Inventor.
It would be great to create high quality renderings in Inventor in a short time and with simple settings.
It would be great to create movies and animation, in realisting high quality, in a short time with very simple settings.
We need an intuituve way to create animation, like Showcase did.
It would be great work in a a real time rendering enviroment.
It would be great to animate constraint easily.
It would have been great to dismiss Inventor Studio instead Showcase
C# has pushed back VB.NET. Make iLogic attractive for young users and support modern syntax/languages like C#.
According to StackOverflow Most Popular Technologies 2018 C# is more than five times more popular than VB.Net.
In Inventor export dialogue is missing the option to include all work features to exported files. It is interesting that when I import any exchange files, the import option for work features in the dialogue appears.
I
It seems that the translator is only able to read (import) the work features but it is not able to export them. Please improve the translator! Include the same export option as it is in import dialogue.
This way the planes, axis and points can be transferred to other software. It is important for fixture and measure jigs manufacturers who need to use the work features as limits, measure points, for constraints etc. We would like to provide them with a set of work features in exported format to avoid design mistakes.
Now we have to open our IPT models (which include work features) with Creo, save them as (STP, IGES, SAT, STL and others) files including work features and send them to our collaborator, supplier, vendor etc. for next work.
It is obvious that exchange files can comprise work features and some translators can export (not only import) them. Why Autodesk does not implement it?
Archived old idea (without solution) is here:
It was also discussed at Inventor Forum (without solution) here:
Why Autodesk lets his competitors beat him in this field? And push his customers to use competitive software?
In Inventor 2019, creating new Preset will help to copy hole settings from one to another as shown below. This should work in part, assembly and API (iLogic, VB.Net)
I suggest you to release vertical and horizontal alignments in drawing ambient; so one alignment should not deactivate the other one.
many times I have to align some section or detail views by eye every time I move them. it could be very easy if horizontal and vertical alignments work simultaneously.
Would it be possible to have the option to group dual values together for Chamfer Note Dual format?
This idea was prompted by the need for an isometric figure of an assembly, depicting the CG and it's measured location. Currently there exists no way to annotate in a model to the CoG planes. This should be something that is dynamic and updates with the any changes to the model WRT CoG.
If you right click on a sketch dimension it does not give you the option to edit the sketch that this dimension is within. Please add
So when in an assembly on the browser in modelling if you right click on the derived part there is no open option like right click on everything else you can double click it and it opens but this is not obvious as this gesture is normally edit in place. This should be added
Also when right clicking on a part within the assembly graphics window or browser you should be able to open its derived part. If it has more than one then it presents a list which you can choose which one to open.
I created 3-model of the block.
Next, I need to prepare a set of documents for the manufacture and installation of the object.
I created an assembly drawing and a specification.
Set of project documents includes a table for connecting wires and cables. According to these data, wires and cables are laid and connected.
Now I can get data on wires and cables only in the CSV format.
It is very necessary to create a report on wires and cables in DWG-format with the title block.
When pasting copied sketches with user parameter driven dimensions we spend a lot of time re-assigning the user parameters to the pasted dimensions.
Seems to me that IV could check if the dims it's pasting include user parameters and if they do, offer to use those rather than creating new user parameters.
(Or it could be achieved via a 2nd Paste with Fx option in the context menu.)
If during pasting, the user parameter does not exist, IV could create a user parameter as is does now.
Cheers
