Hi, There is no way to avoid creating additional sketch with lines (tangent, perpendicular) to place tangent dimension that is aligned with the flange sheet. Screenshoot is in the attachment. Downloading 3d annotations / model dimensions is not the way. In competitive CAD software it is easy to do. Regards, Maciej

It would be good to be able to copy the properties of a hatch within a model view, like you can do with dimensions properties.

If I make a flush place constraint in an assembly I have to give an offset value. I never know if I have to give a positive or nagative offset value. I always do this by trail and error. Maybe it's possible to make a reverse button in the "Place Constraint " window.

When all items in a folder are suppressed or invisible, the appearance of the folder icon and/or name should change accordingly. Bonus points for another appearance for when only some contents are suppressed or invisible. See the folder icons in SolidWorks as an example; Blue is enabled Gray is suppressed Blue/grey is a mix (Never mind the errors... our SW models are a mess)

This would be a nice time saver for Inventor users. The current methodology requires right mouse selection of a Delete command, and takes approximately 1.5 seconds. However, simply using the keyboard's 'Delete' key would be instantaneous and take about .1 second. Time is of the essence, and Inventor needs to speed things up in so many areas.

Please provide the Inventor API on NuGet, similar to the AutoCAD API. https://www.nuget.org/profiles/Autodesk This would make it simpler to upgrade a project to a newer release (no need to replace the API file in Visual Studio project references).

Column Example In Parameters Window This will allow developers to see quickly if parameters are used within the model. To see if a parameter is consumed by any features you have to exit iLogic then go to the parameters window, scroll to the parameter and examine the consumed by. If the Consumed By was in the iLogic window it would make programming parts/assemblies much easier.

Inventor should have the possibility to use 3D annotation from lower levels in Top Level assembly drawing. We want the annotation on a part level because: we use part descriptions on a part level (a breef 2-3 word summary of the machine) and we add numbers relating to quotation. for these annotations we want the annotation style and height to be constant throughout the document and this is only possible in parts. we also want the content of these numbers to be driven by ilogic, both internally and with factory rules.

In iLogic or VBA when dealing with participants in an assembly extrusion: If the amount of participants ever goes to zero the extrusion is automatically deleted. I would like this to change to instead of it being deleted make the extrusion suppressed if the amount of participants goes to zero. That way there isn't a need to keep checking for the number of participants and also there isn't a need to recreate the extrusion if the participants ever go to zero by mistake. I've attached a video of removing the participants down to zero and the extrusion goes away (deleted) within an assembly.

I would like to see the implementation of adding Inventor Bolted Connections to the file naming default section in Application Options similar to how Frame Generator and Tube & Pipe are currently being handled in Inventor 2019 & 2020. By default, when adding bolted connections into an assembly model they take the name as "Bolted Connection: 1, 2, 3, etc". Having users manually determine or input a file name for every bolted connection can be cumbersome, especially for assemblies that may have a large amount of these bolted connections. If users have the ability to input a specific index number in the file naming defaults, would solve the potential unique file naming issues with vault.

It would be a great idea for Autodesk Team to implement a function that can be set (with a setting) that locks the "Master/Primary" Model State for editing, as it was with the "Level Of Details" in earlier releases.

I would like to see in near future updates code marker/highlighter. For example: if I mark beginning of "If" statement, I would like to see the "End" of this statement to be marked as well: This will be very helpful in complicated code (with a lot of different statements and loops). Another improvement would be variable marker/highlighter. For example: if it's a class variable, then, after highlighting this variable, I would like to see this variable highlighted in the whole iLogic code: If it's a local "Sub" variable, then mark all its uses inside the local "Sub".

I use Inventor to create drawings for music stages. These drawings are used by our customers, engineers and crews. The assemblies are in real life, physically very large. I use multiple Model States to control various views within the drawings. Right now there are two Edit Scope choices: Factory and Member. I do as much modeling using Factory Scope as I can before I start creating additional Model States. Once I have multiple model states editing my model becomes increasingly labour intensive. Most of the changes I make are in multiple Model States, but not all Model States. I make my changes in Factory Scope, but then I need to go back into the Model states that I don't want those changes and remove them. Having the ability to edit more than one Model States at a time would be very helpful.

Example: Highlight custom/edited dimensions In drawings, we can hide the dimension value and set it to a custom value, also add text to the dimensions. Some people can do that, for several reasons. The issue is, if we change the 3D model, those custom/edited dimensions can be outdated and can't be hard to remember which one is a custom dim, or if another user opens the drawing, it will be hard to recognize a custom dimension. My idea is: every time a sheet has custom dimensions, we have a warning icon somewhere, and if we click the icon, the Inventor will show/highlight every custom dimension.

An error in the behavior of the Arrange Dimensions command needs to be corrected. After the "Group chain dimension" is grouped, this dimension should acquire the properties of a linear dimension. And it aligns as linear. This error is very difficult to be productive. There have been several attempts to solve this problem here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ilogic-api-vba-forum/is-it-possible-to-automatically-arrange-chain-dimensions/td-p/9844811 and here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/arrange-dimensions/m-p/10758612 But Autodesk cannot do without goodwill, and this problem cannot be solved. Thanks to make it happened with INV 2024 (and ACAD 2024 ), to export PNG with transparent background will be perfect when this option is not only availible for model export, for the drawings it´s also needed. and additional options, like 3 parties e.g. e-pdf could, are also welcome. incl. picture size to export PNG scaled e.g. 1:1 incl. option to give variant DPI incl. option to crop the white area around the elements looking forward to version 2025 /Jürgen

The short and sweet: We should be able to lock a View Representation so new components added to the main assembly and to unassociative sub-assemblies won't be added to the View Rep, but associative View Rep links will be retained. The explanation: Say I have a master assembly with several sub-assemblies. I have a View Rep in my master assembly which I'm using for a drawing. One of the sub-assemblies is likely to change (it might be a piping assembly, for example) and I always want my drawing to reflect its most recent state. So, I've set the sub-assembly's View Representation to "Default" and checked "Associative". This is great. However, in this drawing, I don't want new components that I add to the master assembly and the other sub-assemblies to show up, because I'm already showing precisely the sub-assemblies and parts that I want to be in the drawing. So, I go to lock my master assembly's View Representation so new components won't show up... only to find that in order to do so, I also have to "remove all associative links". Why?? This is completely unnecessary. We should be able to lock a View Representation so new components added to the main assembly and to unassociative sub-assemblies won't be added to the View Rep, but associative View Rep links will be retained.
