Hello,   Maybe more people run in through this problem. But is is very annoying that when you place a Detail and then delete it, that it still continues the numbering of the details. For example; you place detail A, then delete it. Then when you place a detail, it will go up "+1" to B. Is there maybe a way to reset the detail counter? Or maybe have an array/list that you can see wich details have been used? The current version of changing the name of the detail, is pretty sensetive for errors. Show More

Please add copy as path to this menu so user doesn't have to open file location and do this in windows explorer.  Right click on any part or assembly in model tree opens menu. It would be great if there was an extra row with "copy path" next to "open file location".   Copy path is useful when replacing components or deriving components. This way you don't have to manually navigate to file location but rather paste the path and press enter.       Show More

Currently, to make a cut in a point cloud you have to do a “Box crop”. It would be desirable to be able to cut a point cloud with the static or dynamic "Half-Section View" function to obtain a coherent and easy-to-perform cut. Show More

Ever had a drawing where you wanted an aligned to edge orientation for a break view? I have!!!    If yes, please vote to add this simple yet highly effective functionality I feel has always been missing.   Example. Bent piece of pipe that I wanted to put on a B size drawing and in full scale. Can't use the Break tool on the bent section and keep the break aligned how I want it due to limitation of only Vertical or Horizontal Break orientation....       Result of horizontal break. Not nice to look at in this case is it?     My proposed fancy new "Aligned" orientation button....       You would use Edge selection to select the edge you want your Break to be perpendicular to (or possibly ability to edit the Break properties at the sketch level?).....     The end result would be a MUCH nicer and desired result....   Show More

I have a sketch consisting of three lines in a "U" shape. I can select all three of those lines as the "Direction" for a Rectangular pattern, and the pattern will follow entire the U-shaped path. However, if that U-shape is inside a sketch block, then I can only select one of those three lines as the "Direction". Show More

It annoys me that I cannot work on my model with the parameters window open all the time.  I don’t know if there a reason for this on the coding end, but I would like to have it open on a second monitor so I can see all the names of my parameters and edit them on the fly. Show More

Hello, we have defined custom iProperties in our drawing files, which we use in the title blocks. Our title blocks are external dwg files (xRef), which are referenced in the drawings. The values do not update in the title block when the iProperties are changed in Inventor. The current values in the title block are only displayed correctly after closing and reopening the drawing file.   To illustrate the whole here are a few screenshots: The first screenshot shows the title block with the scale and the iProperty window with the custom iProperties. When there is a lost reference (projected geometry), I would like the option to replace it.   Right now, you have to delete it, select new one, AND then reconstrain.   For the picture below (just to simulate my complaint), I modeled a box, and then created a cut extrusion through it (the circle).  After doing so, I decided to split the box in half, making upper half a solid body, and the lower half a separate solid body. The lost reference is in magenta.     I understand that the reference rightfully is lost, but I want to be able to repair it. Yes, this particular model would be an easy fix, but complex parts could be a pain, ESPECIALLY in top down modeling where there is lots of referencing going on.   Show More

If I retrieve dimensions in the A-A section I will not be able to retrieve them in the C detail view: In case the model tolerances get changed, this would lead to the following situation: which is not correct.   3DModel tolerances are often not used in production for 3 main reasons. This is one of them. The other 2 are documented by the following ideas: Retrieve Dimensions from any model orientation [1947] enable a quick overview of all tolerated geometries in the 3D model [US-71304] All 3 issues are already known to Autodesk. While Point Clouds are visible in the Inventor modelling space there appears to be no way to have Point Clouds displayed in an Inventor drawing despite this functionality being available in other products such as AutoCAD (via sectioning) and Revit. This requirement would be a great feature for facilities (in our case transmission substations) were large scale point clouds are complemented with 3D Inventor models. In most cases we are required to document in drawings both the existing and new designs and the current functionality does not allow the existing assets (captured via point cloud) to be displayed in drawings. Bulletted text should be able to use any symbol in fonts via character map like you can in the text editor itself.   Numbered text needs help. It should function just like words with multiple levels and be able to start at any number you wish. It shouldn't be mandatory to start with 1. What if your notes sheet starts with 1 and runs out of space on page 1 and has to go to page 2? You can't pick up with 58 on page 2, or start at 2.1 or anything.   1. 2. -----A -----B -----C ----------i ----------ii --------------a --------------b   etc. The outline should flow as far as you need it. Haven't found this on the idea station. I am trying to get something similar as "replace should replace all selected components" but for tube and pipe elements.   When you do a run sometimes you need to change size of multiple fittings and pipes. I don't mean change the style. On a 2" run I can have a drain or sample valve and I need to change just those end fittings and pipes without affecting the whole run or without doing another separate run.   If you select multiple elments (content center items) there is no change size option. I have "CS" as change size shortcut but it only changes the first element selected.       Show More
