I'm annoyed that the creation date is automatically inserted in the revision date slot. Why can't I click a drop down and choose today like I do in iProperties when setting dates? Or even better, when is clicked todays date is entered automatically instead of the date when the drawing was made. Occasionally, you want to select a specific part to change its visibility or appearance. In drawings with multiple views, pages, and assemblies with many parts, the search function is extremely slow because it checks everything. Often, it takes several minutes, and I can't tell whether Inventor has frozen or is still processing.   Usually, I just want to control that part on one page, and usually only in one or two views on that page. It would be great if I could choose to search specific views at a time instead of the entire document. It would also be great if you could abort the search. Show More

Looking at the idea board it appears that may users want the capability to break different types of lines (dimension, center, etc.) in drawings. I would like to add hidden lines to this list as well. Sometimes I need to break a part of a hidden line without hiding the entire line. Not sure if this is possible as I can see numerous software issue with it, but if possible it would be a nice feature for future updates. Show More

Apparently, Inventor’s native Auxiliary View tool is hardcoded to only accept solid linear edges of 3D model geometry. It apparently deliberately ignores: Drawing sketch lines Model centerlines & center marks Model 3D work axes WHY?????????  As a normal requirement an axis should be able to be picked up and if a custom view is required, Sketches should be able to be used. I shouldn't have to bodgy up some half-baked work around.  I should also be able to select the direction of the view as well as other CAD systems allow.   Show More

As a developer, I would like to be able to get and set the "Wrap Table at Row" boolean.      If WrapAutomatically = False API has no visibility if the table was wrapped by the user. API has no visibility how many sections exist. If table was wrapped automatically and had more than 1 section, then the wraps at those rows remain. Show More

The animation aspect of the Presentation environment is very cool, but in my experience it's mostly used to show exploded parts diagrams on drawings.    The common issues with going back and forth between .ipn and .idw and adjusting the timeline, clicking the green update arrows, then updating the lightning bolt on the drawing could all be eliminated if Presentations could be adjusted from within the drawing itself.   Let us click and drag the parts or subassemblies around directly on the page. With the introduction of DIN 2769 in combination with ISO 22081 and ISO 8015, more companies are starting to use the new general tolerancing concept on engineering drawings. In our Inventor workflows we need to display the symbols: AD (circled) add (circled) within drawing notes and title block text fields.   Currently these symbols are not available in the AIGDT font and therefore cannot be inserted through the standard Inventor text editor like other GD&T symbols.   As a result, users must rely on workarounds such as manually creating sketch symbols. Adding these symbols to the font would improve support for companies adopting the newer ISO 8015/ DIN 2769 tolerancing standards and help maintain consistency with existing GD&T workflows.   Requested enhancement: Please add circled "AD" and circled "add" symbols to the AIGDT font and make them available through the Inventor symbol insertion menu. many a time i may draw lofted center drive curve but in a inventor drawing view there is now way i know of to make the drive sketch visible. i think would be nice to turn that visibily on or off instaed of redrawing that sketch in that view Show More

Make it possible to position dimensions, relative to part geometry. (sketch or relation to a point/ line) This could be similar to how a section view line can be controlled trough editing the sketch, allowing it to be linked to part geometry.   Currently, dimensions are messed up often when changing part dimensions, or making a variant of a existing part/ drawing. (clipping trough other dimensions, or clipping trough part).   Use case 1: a set of parts that has a similar shape, with edited dimensions (like a content center part), making drawings for each part trough replacing the referenced component.   Use case 2: editing a existing part, maintinging the same dimension spacing relative to part.     Show More

For a 2D drawing, make it possible to set a scale for the entire drawing that has multiple unique parts (or make it linked to the primairy component scale). Reason for this: we create cutting drawings, that needs to be exported to DWG format to cut it. The DWG file will use the scaling of the primairy component. If a secondary component is not set to the same scale, the DWG file will not contain the correct contour.   This is especially error prone, especcially if scaling needs to be changed after making a drawing with 10+ components. Hello.   Drawing Dimension information improvement is needed when model is changed.   In below example, we have 3 same dimensions, only difference is how they are added. First is on 1 line, second is on 2 lines and third is on 2 points. When "radius" (or similar) is added on the model, dimension change and only "2 lines" it stays and it is correct ones, otherones can cause manufacturing problems. And they are also not marked as problematic or unattached (pink dimensions). Maybe in some cases, automatic attachment on changed line is welcome, but I would say that problably not on most of them.   It should at least inform the user that some dimensions were changed or marked them (pink color? + error doctor?).   Example (before and after adding a radius):     Best regards, Rene Repina   Show More

When creating a hole table the default format options as set in Style Editor Hole Table are ignored. Also when a part is rotated from its default view and the resulting table is split the columns hight all got to hell     These defaults are NEVER carried to the Hole Table as when RMB and clicking edit hole table the column widths are totally different, usually smaller, and as for hight well IV just seems to pleas its self the columns are never all the same hight   AND YES I DID USE SAVE AND EXIT FOLLOWED BY SAVE IN THE MANAGE TAB AND I DID GET THE OVERWRITE MESSAGE POP UP AND ANSWERED WITH YES. Hello. Please add a default option for "Paste Resource" dialog (... replace the existing resource or ....), so it can be choosen as "Replace" or "New". Currently default option is "New", which creates "copy of ", "copy of copy of copy of " sketch symbols...
