Yes. Run your license thru this and then give me the results:

Thanks. Looks good. Can you get me a screencap of your System Settings
tab in LMTOOLS? Or save out the HOSTID button?

Here is the 11.7 lmgrd.exe.  Try this with the 11.7 adskflex.exe from my other post.

Make sure all the services are stopped before you try replacing the files.  You should also repoint your services to the new files and save it before restarting the service.

Also make sure you check the box on the first tab to ignore system
variables. Then start the service again.

Can you even do a Status Enquiry?

Hi @Anonymous was @TravisNave able to resolve the issue for you? If so, please accept his response as the solution.

If not, try updating the license manager to the Latest Version 11.12. Not sure why you're using 11.7...

Darrin, I had him try 11.7 as a test in the small chance that 11.12 was not working for his R2 server.  I have seen this happen.

His server has an interesting situation where the service simply does not start.  I have a sneaking suspicion that there is a 3rd party security software on the server that is blocking access.  The adskflex.exe never fires off and the debug hangs on detecting other lmgrd.exe services.  Definitely an odd one because everything else checks out.  It has to be a conflict somewhere.

I've had that issue in the past as well... 🙂

You may have already tried this but here's what I've done in the past...

Update the license manager to the lastest version > Stopped then deleted the service via LMTOOLS. Next, I created a new service using a completely different name and repathed everything > Saved Settings then used the restart server option from the Start/Stop/Reread tab.

Another thought I have is to check the ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE key within the registry location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FLEXlm License Manager

The value could have other servers specified blocking the ability to stop or run queries.

Yep, tried all the usual ones. Very odd behavior.

Hi, I'm late to the thread, let me know if I should start a new one but my issue is similar to the one in this thread. At one of my clients that I support, they just installed LMTools 11.14.1.3 on a 2nd server running 2012 R2. They also have an existing LMTools 11.12.0.0 build 136775 x64_n6 running on a 2008 R2 box. They configured some workstations to pull licenses from the new server while some are still getting licenses from the old server. They stated the reason for installing 2nd server is in case the old one fails. To migrate all workstations to the new license server is a time consuming process which I'll undertake once I can get the LMTools to run as a service on the newer server.

Client called us to report that the LMTools running on the new server closes unexpectedly. I found the application was not configured to run as a service. I configured to run as a service but the service will not start.
